My hair is yellow!

I went to a new hairdresser last night for half a head of highlights, she used toners as my hair is fine and she said it wouldn't be as damaging as bleach, which is great. But my hair is YELLOW

She is a friend of a friend and so lovely, I couldn't bring myself to say anything at the time, but I hate it. I look awful.

I pressed post too soon! What can I do to tone it down a bit? Any ideas?

I paid over £100.00 to look like a scarecrow. Never again. Given up dying now after Covid just cannot stand sitting for hours getting my hair dyed now just a cut for me I might get half head of colours once all my colour is fully out but something that takes little maintenance as I said just can’t be bothered anymore.

Use a purple shampoo to tone it down a bit for the time being.

You could just give her a call and say that now that you've lived with the color a bit you don't feel the yellow suits you. She's not going to be offended if she's a professional and should be able to do something to get the color closer to what you'd originally envisioned.

Don't try any color fixes at home. You could buy one of those purple tinted shampoos meant for silver or highlited hair, but that's a subtle change that's temporary.
