Merit Beauty, anyone bought anything?

US makeup company, just launched in the UK. I read something about the products a while ago and thought I’d give the Minimalist Complexion Stick a go as I’ve been starting to feel my usual liquid foundation was looking a bit cakey and heavy.

I’ve been really impressed with it so far. You don’t seem to need a lot and using a brush distributes it around the areas of my face which need it pretty well. I also bought the tubing mascara and never having tried the tubing variety before, I like it. I’d like to try the blushers but am worried about making an expensive mistake.

I’d be interested to know if anyone else has bought anything that might be worth splashing out on.

I want to try it but just not sure on the shade of complexion but I like the look of it. I now get regular emails from them and finally wrote and said give me some advice! Have you tried anything else by them? I love tubing mascara (I use blink)

I’ve bought quite a few things.

The minimalist stick is my absolute favourite. It’s really buildable and I like that it’s a bit more matt. Their foundation matcher is very good - I was wearing ecru during the winter but now I’ve got a bit of a tan I’m using bisque. The blusher is lovely, I’m using Beverley Hills and it’s a super flattering colour.

The bronzing stick I’m a bit on the fence over. I like it but I’ve never previously worn bronzer and I’m not sure if I’m doing it right. It’s a nice light product though and very easy to blend so someone more familiar with bronzer will probably do it better!

I do have the tubing mascara and it’s ok, but I don’t think it’s that amazing. I also wouldn’t bother with the lip gloss as it disappears virtually the minute you apply it.

I've not yet but I'd really like to.

Yes! I bought the minimalist stick and I find it OK, but I wouldn’t say I love it. I don’t think it blends that easily and I prefer my usual liquid foundation. I really like the Merit brush though.

The blush, however… I’m a total convert. The Stockholm shade is perfection. I keep texting my sister in law about it as nobody else I know is a big fan of blush, so I’m glad to have found this thread to spread the word! 😂

I've tried the minimalist stick and the blush.

For me the minimalist stick was overhyped - I found it clung to any dryness and realistically didn't do anything that much cheaper products I already have (eg concealer/foundatiom sticks or even just using concealer in lieu of foundation would achieve, but did cost a lot more.

The flush balm blushers are really nice though, I have two colours ( beverly hills and raspberry beret) and think both shades are very wearable. It gives a nice glow and feels moisturisin but the downside to that is that I find it doesn't last that long and needs reapplication. As I'm quite pale I tend to look a bit drawn without cheek colour and it's one I always need to reapply after a few hours. I find the liquid blushers (eg rare beauty) stay on much better. Again it's a really nice product and packaging but nothing you can't get a similar result from elsewhere.

I'd like to try their lip products, particularly the tinted lip oil but probably won't be placing an order as I have plenty I'd like to try and use up.

Where do you but it from? I could not find UK retailer. Thank you.

Pringleface · 24/06/2023 11:06

I just bought it off their website.

I want to, because I'm an advertiser's dream - but I have literally a drawer full of make up. I don't need any more.

I love the look of it.
