Garden Party dress help!

i need your help!

I’ve been invited to one of the royal garden parties and need something to wear. I’m late 40s, 5’3 and 14-16. I haven’t got a clue where to start looking. Any advice?

Start with your shoes.
There is a LOT of walking and a LOT of standing.
Then, once you are in the grounds, there is a LOT more standing, and you are walking on grass.

There were a lot of people in fancy heels getting stuck in the grass, and, by later in the day, really hobbling.
Seriously, build your outfit around some shoes you can walk miles in, walk on grass without sinking into the grass, and wear for hours.

After that, you can look for the dress.
