Whats best for aging skin. My current one smells gorgeous but isn't quite cutting it any more.

Need something to soften/plump up my 40 something year old skin. Preferably something suitable for sensitive skin as I get itchy easily.

Tia.

It isn't particularly ground breaking, but I'm a fan of Nivea soft. I have very dry skin on my arms and legs (always have), but also hate the feeling of greasy stuff on my skin. I find Nivea soft ok as it absorbs pretty quickly and it does help my skin

I just LOVE Garnier BODY SUPER FOOD.

Whatwouldscullydo · 01/03/2023 10:49

Thanks 😊

Do any of you add anything to bath water too that helps at all?

La Roche Posay Lipikar

BiliousOhGod · 01/03/2023 10:53

Another vote for Nivea Soft here, but if you want perfume, too, have a look at the Korres range. They have some lovely body products, often in TK Maxx, that really work (shower / bath and lotions).

I've tried umpteen at great expense, and the best one for softening skin is CeraVe SA cream. It doesn't really have a smell, either pleasant or unpleasant.

TheFairyCaravan · 01/03/2023 11:17

The Neom magnesium body butters are my favourite

crosshatching · 01/03/2023 11:24

I still like Aveeno - unscented and add a few drops of essential oil. But that's only because I can't justify L'Occitaine Almond Body cream.

FictionalCharacter · 01/03/2023 11:38

The Aveeno ones are great for sensitive skin. There’s also a Neutragena one I like but if you get itchy I’d go for Aveeno. I’m using their Daily Moisturising Body Lotion at the moment and it works well on my ridiculously dry arms and legs.

BeetleyCarapace · 01/03/2023 11:41

I get the best results with Aveeno, E45 lotion or a Spanish brand called Instituto Espanol (the one with urea in it is especially marvellous).

Martinisarebetterdirty · 01/03/2023 11:52

Clarins moisture rich body lotion is amazing.

RosetteNebula · 01/03/2023 12:30

I like the Body Shop lotions as they are a lot thicker than most other lotions. Smell gorgeous and absorb well too. Their butters are also lovely but I wasn't sure if you just meant lotions?

I make my own body scrub to use in the bath. I don't use it in the shower as it just washes away before I've had time to give myself a good scrub. I can't remember quantities, but it's brown sugar, sea salt, xv olive oil and a few drops of teatree oil. It is ok to use on your face once a week as well - think the recipe was for a face scrub but I use it all over

WellTidy · 01/03/2023 12:59

I’ve bought loads at great expense, but I always come back to Garnier seven day moisture (about £5 for 400ml, in a green bottle, so moisturising) or Rituals Sakura whipped body cream (about £15 for 200ml tub, the scent is divine). The Occitane almond one is also really nice but more expensive , and I actually prefer the Rituals one.

LadyEloise1 · 01/03/2023 13:10

Rituals Jing.
Aveeno Almond Creamy oil.
L'Occitane Almond.
Nivea Soft
Palmers Coconut. Not the Cocoa butter one - I hate the smell

Epli · 01/03/2023 13:14

I like Neutrogena Hydro Boost when I am in hurry and Aveeno Daily Moisture when I have a bit more time for it to absorb. However the biggest difference I see is when I scrub & dry brush regularly.

Whatwouldscullydo · 01/03/2023 13:18

Wow this is proving to be a very expensive thread 🤣

Amazing selection to choose from though seriously thank you all. I've ordered a small selection I'm sure one of them will be perfect for me

Blue E45 bottle with pump is fantastic stuff. Spendier option (I pick it up when in France as there are often great offers) .Caudalie body lotion.

antwacky · 01/03/2023 13:21

I like SBC Hydra collagen body butter. It's really solid in the pot but softens easily onto my skin. There's not much scent but it feels absolutely lovely on my skin.

slowsnow · 01/03/2023 13:24

I just use coconut oil

TeaMistress · 01/03/2023 13:29

Any of the lovely body yoghurts from the Body shop. I love the limited edition daisy one they bring put in spring/ summer with matching shower gel.
