What shoes/boots would you wear with this dress?

What would you wear with this dress? I put it with my black DMs but they didn't feel quite right with it. Thinking maybe a brown boot - or something entirely different?

I'm wearing it in cold weather at the moment - it's quite thin material but I have a navy thicker jersey dress that fits perfectly underneath so it's warm. But I expect I will wear it in warmer months too, so suggestions for both cold and warm weather are all appreciated.

I'm in my 40s and on the large side, in case that makes a difference.

I really like them - but sorry I should have said - I need something with a flat or low heel as I'll be doing lots of walking in them.

Yes, that kind of thing, but a bit lighter.
