Stylish laptop/work bag for big new job

Currently I have a great sized bag from New Look which has a padded laptop compartment and then a big section for my notebooks and all my other bumph. However it was cheap, looks it and is falling apart.

So can you help me find something? Good quality, preferably leather, nice looking (stylish rather than utilitarian)
I would prefer a separate padded laptop compartment but open to a tote or similar and then a separate sleeve for the laptop.
I carry around a headphone case, multiple notepads, pens etc (all hot desks at in the office and hybrid working so everything I use during the day comes home with me at night)
I've looked everywhere but can't find anything just right.
I love Ted Baker bags but they don't have exactly what I need.
Budget up to around £200
TIA

Try Knomo. They have good quality work bags.

Will you have a long commute? I tend to use a backpack for my laptop and work gear, for going to/from work and also carry a handbag for lunchtimes/drinks after work.

Nordace do some nice looking backpacks. If you want leather, there’s Zatchels or the Cambridge Satchel Co.

A few nice ones here?

I use the Jennie travel bag from MiaTui - sadly it's fake rather than real leather, but it has tons of space, lots of pockets and comes in loads of colours. I'm a teacher who moves classrooms a lot, and I can fit my laptop, planner, stationery, resources and water bottle in it no problem. You would have to get a separate laptop sleeve though.

What I really like is that it comes with a matching clutch/shoulder bag for keys/purse/phone etc, so if I need to stop at the shop on the way home, or pick up the kids, I can grab that instead of lugging the whole bag around!

Thanks all, will have a look

Oh and no, I don't have a commute, it's door to door in the car so I don't really need a back pack

How about a Marc Jacobs tote bag - i use one and i fit my laptop, big yearly planner, my book, headphones and a few other bits. I'm also door to door in the car and i love mine. Might be slightly over budget but you can often get them in the sale.

I paid £199 for a Kate Spade structured tote last month. It has a matching leather laptop sleeve that fits inside. Mine is black leather but it was also available in burgundy, tan and olive I believe. I got it from a Kate Spade outlet shop. I’ll see if I can find a link online.

@PixiePirate that's exactly the sort of thing I'm looking for. Such a shame it's sold out.

I really like this one, but the second compartment doesn't seem roomy enough - I need to lug round a headset among other things. Anyone have this and can comment on size?

OP, I hear you and another who drives to work and lugs similar clumber. I have found the tote type bags aren't really strong enough and go back again and again to a Timberland Rucksack. Big job and I don't think anyone really cares. In many ways I prefer to have something that doesn't look expensive for my team to clock!

I use a little cross body bag for my purse, lipstick, keys, etc.

OxanaVorontsova · 22/02/2023 09:49

Osprey any good?

Longchamp every time

I have a large, small and the small rucksack. In a new role, you won't really know what you need til you have been issued a laptop and know what else you might need to lug around. Do you move around between sites? Or can you have two laptops, one each at home and work?

The Kellie bag is lovely and I love that colour - it says it fits up to 17" laptop, so sounds like a generous size. Worth a try at that price I would say. Longchamp le pliage is ideal for lugging around as it is so light, and it is my favourite everyday bag but if you are commuting by car that's probably not necessary (and I notice lots of younger teens/students using le pliage now and it doesn't sound like that's the look you want either)

Are you anywhere near an outlet village? Braintree still had them in stock when I went about 3 weeks ago. I believe there’s one in the Ashford Designer Village too if you’re in the South East.

Cheshire Oaks is my closest, and they have Kate Spade. Thank you!

Thanks they certainly look roomy enough.
It's a promotion in the same company. So I'll have same laptop, same kit etc that I carry now.
