Would my ear piercings be closed now?

I got my ears pierced when I was a teenager in the late 90s.

In the early 00s, I got a job and a requirement was no jewellery. I took out my ear rings. I meant to put them back in but I never did. It was about 2012 when I noticed there was still holes in my ears. So I bought a pair of earrings and checked and the holes were still open.

Since then I was sporadically wesring earrings. It was on and off. Last time I wore earrings was back in October for a function. I struggled to get them in but I did.

I am just after trying more earrings today but unfortunately I can't get them through to the back.
Would these ear piercings be closed now or will I try earrings with a different diameter? I had a look at the bar that goes through into the ear and it does look somewhat thicker than other earrings.

If the holes didn't close up in the 10 years or so where you didn't wear them I should imagine they are still open. Earrings come in a variety of different diameters so you may have more success with a much thinner pair. I'd have a warm shower first and give your ears a bit of a massage first- might make it easier!

I had loads of ear piercings in the 90s. Took all of them out bar the "normal" ones about 15 years ago.
I tried about a month ago just to see if they were still open and I could easily (ish) get earrings through, so it's worth another try for you.
This may be too much information, but the older holes, once I put earrings in, had a constant cheesy smell (do you know the smell I mean?!) so I ended up taking them back out and I couldn't get rid of it no matter how much I cleaned them Envy

I had to go through from the back if that makes sense, and erm a lump of cheesy stuff pushed through. They're fine now

Ah gwan, just push an old sterilised earring through hard and fast. Yes you'll feel tender for a bit, but it should do the trick.
