Navy dress for wedding

I'm going to a wedding soon and I wanted to wear a navy dress, but my friend reckons navy is out for our age group (35). I've seen a couple with AX Paris I like but I honestly don't know whether to now steer clear. I'm tall, size 14 and chubby hourglass.

I'm intrigued as to what your friend is basing this insight on (mainly because I think it's rubbish).

Navy is a really versatile colour, and a great alternative to black, which doesn't suit everyone's complexion. Mine included.

I'm the same age range and would totally wear a navy dress to a wedding.

I looked to see what colour shoes the model had on for dress 1+ 2 .....transparent ones so no bleedin' help there Grin

Your second dress OP is perfect!

Another one here who's amazed at your friend's view about navy OP. Really like the second option in your post.

I'm going to a wedding in August and have two or three suitable dresses in my wardrobe depending on the weather. If we have a hot spell like last year I'll be wearing a navy sleeveless dress with small gold circles teamed with pale gold sandals and gold bag.

I wore navy to a wedding aged 5 (sailor dress), a wedding aged 23, several weddings in my late 30s and early 40s and then, after a long hiatus, navy again to a wedding last year at 55. If navy suits your colouring then go for it.
