Leather, enclosed-ish toe, not too much of a "flatform" tractor-tyre sole.

I saw a woman wearing a par of yellow, almost patent like, leather sandals last year, and regret I did not stop & ask her where they came from.

John Lewis do standard black leather ones, but I'm also in the market for something quirky - I have quite a selection of Campers & John Fluevogs, but most of the Fluevogs have fairly high heels, and post-lockdown, too much heel just doesn't do it for me (and I think my feet have expanded from an EU 40 to a 41 or even 42 if the shoes run narrow).

Any inspiration? I'll be working in the US and Australia over the summer, so wanting something nice but practical.

There are these I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-lisbon-leather-caged-fisherman-sandals/black/p6025568?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&s_share=jlappios_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5Lk1lc3NhZ2U=

Yes, those are the basic Johnny Loulou ones I found, which I will try on (I don't like buying shoes without trying them on) and they'd do.

They look nice & comfortable so they tick a lot of my boxes, but I'm wondering if there are more exciting shoes out there?

(This is an eternal quest of mine ... I spend quite a lot of my shopping time looking for the perfect pair of shoes. I'm still trying to find a replacement for the perfect Mary Janes I had 15 years ago).

I saw some like this on Vinted last week. I almost bought them as they were only £5!!

Nausrous · 19/02/2023 18:08

And they were new with no "dirty foot" marks 🤣

Salt water do some a bit like that, in quite a few colours. https://www.salt-watersandals.com/gb-en/womens-sandals/shark-original-womens.html

BlueHeelers · 19/02/2023 18:51

OP posts:
Nausrous · 19/02/2023 18:52

I was just going to say fisherthem! Ha

MrsJamin · 19/02/2023 18:55

Yes of course fisherthem sandals if you think of yourself at neither man or woman... Wouldn't want to assume your gender! 😅😂

ShangPie · 19/02/2023 19:28

no recommendations but fisherthem 😂😂😂

Also Everlane is a US company so may be worth checking if you will be working near a store when you’re over there this summer

ArseMenagerie · 19/02/2023 20:29

Mind the sizing on Everlane as it’s US :)

BlueHeelers · 21/02/2023 11:11

Thank, everyone! I hadn't thought of the Moshulu, so they look lovely.

So so sad that the Everlane ones (utterly perfect) are only available in a US size 7 - I'm a clodhoppery 40 (US10 - US11 or so).

Off to work in a big city this weekend, but Sunday morning is free - shopping time!

Although ...

I don't think I'll be asking for "Fisherthem" sandals.

Because Sam Smith is a not very bright idiot
