Has anyone ever gradually replaced their whole wardrobe?

My wardrobe is in need of a revamp and I really want to replace most of it with ethical brands, and clothes I really love as opposed to ugly leggings I wear because they're the first thing I see. I can probably only afford to buy two items a month. Has anyone else replaced their wardrobe this way before? I'm quite excited about it!

I threw out most of my clothes when I turned 40 I was so miserable about being old and I felt nothing suited me.

Over the last 5 yrs I have bought all new stuff, mainly from ebay and some new bits from COS.

I did the same last month and filled three bags in a fit of hormonal misery. I don't go out any more so I chucked all my clothes I might have worn on a thinner and younger night out.

My wardrobe looks much clearer. So far all I've managed to do is buy two new pairs of sweaty Betty leggings on vinted.

But you are right it is cathartic and can be a lot of fun replacing stuff, esp if you know what you'll want to buy!

See, I know if I threw out all the clothes I don't like I wouldn't have much left 😅

That's not a bad thing though. As long as you are very happy with what's left and you don't mind washing more frequently, theres nothing to say you can't narrow your wardrobe massively.

I now wear the same three pairs of trousers and four jumpers over a base of identical vest tops and with the same white trainers for work every day.

I just change the earrings and hair clip.
