how to get rid of facial fluff?

As I'm hitting menopause I notice I've developed what I can only call "fluff" along my jawline and lower cheeks. Like pale, fine hairs, but a lot of them. Is this a thing? And how do I get rid? Dermaplaning seems to work but leaves my skin quite sore. And this fluff grows back fast! Any tips?

Funnily enough, Marilyn Monroe's famously luminous complexion was attributed to her downy 'peach fuzz'. Apparently it caught the light so well that she refused requests to remove it!

If yours is soft, not wiry, I'd be tempted to leave it alone.
I have similar: hormonal in my case too, and skin too hypersensitive for removal methods like waxing or creams.

But am watching with interest for any different suggestions that may be doable.

Check this out! amzn.eu/d/1OKgRJw

I use this. I'm quite dark with lots of hair so use the flat end on my upper lip and jaw line and the pointed end to shape my eyebrows.
I used to use the Hollywood Browzer after seeing it on here, but find this much smoother. USB rechargeable too.

DH did think it was something else though...

I use these - very cheap. I find it very satisfying! I'm not that hairy but get annoyed by bits of fluff around my nose.

Shave it. I do. It doesn't grow back thicker.

TheHauntedPencilCase · 18/02/2023 16:33

I've always been super hairy....is it going to get worse?! I shave my mo but leave everywhere else. I have noticed massive nose hairs recently though and tried to pluck one which made me cry, if anyone has tips for those I am all (hairy) ears

That thing historygeek posted is what I use too, it's great. Though mine was a cheap JML one from asda

arghtriffid · 18/02/2023 16:48

Shave it. It makes my skin lovely and smooth and it isn't stubbly

WildCherryBlossom · 18/02/2023 19:14

I came on to post exactly what CriticalThinking said about Marilyn Monroe. But if you can't live with it Tweezerman make a little epilating tool which is quite handy

GrannyAchingsShepherdsHut · 18/02/2023 19:21

@TheHauntedPencilCase you need a nose hair trimmer. Like this thing amzn.eu/d/dpzfPHL I've not tried this one but have one similar.

I use a thing like historygeek does, but just on my 'tache.

allswellthatends · 19/02/2023 21:27

Thanks all. I'm going to give some of these suggestions a try.

I just WISH I looked like Marilyn Munroe!

I have laser but mine is not light fluff, it much more prominent than that. Don't wax.

rasellagirl · 26/10/2023 19:55

One of those springy things

Aramist · 26/10/2023 20:22

I didn't realise women actually shaved their faces...
I mean I suppose men do don't they 😅

lamalamalamasquirrel · 26/10/2023 21:17

The tweezer man springy thing is pretty good once you get the hang of it
