Please help me find a fab white shirt

Hi all S&B posters, I am trying to find a good quality white cotton shirt. My usual sources have been a disappointment: nasty fabrics, oversized shapes.

I wear a white shirt with wide legged trousers, jeans, skirts. I've had one in my wardrobe since forever and I love them - a shirt suits me and it's so versatile.

What brand would you recommend for this item?

I hear you, I'm on a quest for the perfect white shirt. I have good ones from Jigsaw and Boden, but annoyingly they are all 100% cotton so are a bugger to iron and look creased after about 30secs.

Have you tried M&S? If you're not large of boob, it might be worth having a look at the mens section too.

I ordered one from Boden, from the winter collection, and the material was very thin. I've not bought from Jigsaw for years. I might have to try again.

Marie Marot.

I bought this style last year from h&m. I like the slightly bohemian style.
Crinkled cotton so it doesn't need ironing.

I love the Marie Marot website. I too could be chic😁
I like the crinkly shirt as well.

Last year I bought a crinkly white shirt from John Lewis Anyday range, of all places. It washed really well. Wearing it again this year.

I saw a nice one on the Holland Cooper website today.

Anne Fontaine is the absolute business for white shirts www.annefontaine.co.uk/the-white-shirt

They used to have an outlet at Bicester Village but I haven't been there for ages, may be worth a look as the shirts are £££

I've recently got a really nice one in Uniqlo. £29. Supima cotton with some added stretch and something synthetic to make it more crease resistant/easy care. Love it.

Sezane

Joining as have also been looking. I hate ironing so try to avoid anything that needs ironing or at least try to get something that copes with a quick whizz over.

I ended up shortlisting ones from Hawes & Curtis, Schoffel and another one I can't remember but ended up not ordering as couldn't face another disappointment and return.

I brought my first white shirt that fits my boobs, from Anthropology last year, it was very expensive for me, but it fits me perfectly, slightly crinkle material,

HumourReplacementTherapy · 15/02/2023 17:43

Cos is always a good shout for a white shirt although I did get a really nice oversized one from Next. They do not in pale blue too. Nice soft cotton nut not creasy.

So1invictus · 15/02/2023 18:38

Nrby have some nice ones.
I used to have some brilliant M&S ones that were a soft cotton so ironed well.
Might have a look at the Uniqlo ones above.

BHRK · 15/02/2023 19:29

The M&S £30 cotton shirts are surprisingly good.
White Company also worth a look
