Sister's wedding 5 months postpartum and breastfeeding - recommendations please

Hi everyone,

My little boy is nearly 3 weeks old and will be 5 months old at the time of my sister's wedding. I was already overweight before pregnancy (I'm small with bigger thighs/hips, smaller stomach). I put on 10kg when pregnant and 7 of those are gone. DS is exclusively breastfed so I don't want to go on a restrictive diet and worry about losing weight when keeping up my supply is more important. At the same time, I want to fully enjoy my sister's day. So I've decided I want to just forget about losing weight and instead find a dress I will feel good in at the weight I'm at and which I'll also be able to breastfeed in.

Would appreciate any recommendations of a comfy but pretty dress for a larger lady which I can breastfeed in.

Thanks everyone!

I attended my sisters wedding 3 weeks post partum and had similar needs as you (overweight and bf). I was so stressed about what to wear but eventually settled on a seraphine plain dress that looked nice. It was easy to access my boobs, comfortable and whilst to be honest it was a boring choice, it was flattering and easy!

Thank you! I will have a look at this style. That's all I'm after... flattering and easy!

Have a look at Happy Mama! Beautiful nursing dresses that don't break the bank. All stretchy fabric so really comfy too. I wore one for my brother's wedding when DS was 3 months old.

Just to add - if you’re looking at maternity brands it’s worth having a look on Vinted etc - they don’t tend to be the sort of clothes that people have in their wardrobes long term so you can often get some bargains!
