Mens fashion for the over 35s?

Where do men shop? 35, previous lover of jeans, plain t shirts and Converse, but now has a job where he needs to dress less like he is 17. He WFH largely but has a couple of meetings/dinners etc he needs to be dressed well but casually. He has no fashion inspiration and I'm afraid I don't either. I like the Monty Don look on a man but fear we might be 25 years premature for it. He has nice thick curly dark hair, medium build and glasses. I love fashion, but he eyerolls at anything he perceives as 'attention seeking'. Help!

Nothing '17' about jeans and a t-shirt! But for something between that level of casual and the formality of a smart shirt, look for button-down shirts that aren't dress shirts. A short sleeve button-down shirt of the kind you might wear untucked, perhaps with a pattern or print (you often see chequered shirts in this style, but other things are available!) sounds like the level of slightly-smarter-casual you're thinking of. Flannel shirts are quite popular at present.
