Sensitive skin/rosacea skincare advice

Had rosacea for nearly 20 years now and had got it under control with a minimal routine of avene and almond oil. For reasons I can’t remember I stopped using avene and I think from reading reviews some ingredients have changed.

It seems to be so delicate/sensitive and dehydrated at the minute and all I’m using is almond oil but I need something to calm and moisturise which isn’t going to irritate it.

any recommendations?

I have rosacea and found Soolantra has almost completely cured it. Skin care I use that does not upset my skin is Bioderma sensibio micellar water cleanser, CerCeraVe SA Smoothing Cleanser with Salicylic Acid, The Nu moisturiser and Medik 8 retinal at night.

I use the Liz Earle Cica balm at night and it’s really good.

@Mars27 sorry if this is already something you've looked at, but have you tried changing your toothpaste? I had perioral dermatitis for a couple of years, and on a whim recently tried using my DC's toddler toothpaste. It has made a huge difference. Not sure if it was the reduced flouride or reduced SLS, or something else, but either way I'm sticking with it and not complaining.

OP I also have sensitive skin / rosacea and can't tolerate LRP or CeraVe, but can use almond oil. I mostly use the Cetaphil designed for eczema (a cleanser and moisturiser) and various things from the Jojoba Company, which my skin seems to really like. I find the probiotic serum is really good.

Thank you so much for suggesting this but unfortunately this is something I've already tried. I used a natural toothpaste from Holland and Barrett that tasted like grass :s Having said that, it might be worth trying again with a different toothpaste, thanks for the tip.

It's mostly under control these days and what made it better was IPL treatments, it's got a very calming effect on my skin

I second or third the Eucerin Face Replenishing cream - excellent.

zippyswife hi! Below is the Cetaphil, it’s my holy grail product and I’ve repurchased over and over again, the avene is called skin recovery cream. The new one is the tolerane version and makes me so sad because the old one was just so perfect!!! Best of luck!!!

Yes this. This is life.
