What coat or jacket to wear with this dress?

I’m wearing this dress to a wedding in March and I’m not sure what to wear over it while outside. Any ideas please? My coats are all big dog walking things, I don’t have anything ‘nice’.
Thank you!

If its in march and for a wedding its very dependant on the weather really, and how cold its gonna be!!
If its nippy I would go for a light fur jacket maybe a lovely green/blue colour or even ochre, but if its warmer then defo a smart but not to smart plain blazer in a spring colour, maybe green, orange, yellow or even pink! What colour shoes are you going to be wearing?? I'll find some pics 😊

No.

Not the right length at all. You either need a short coat probably in faux fur, or a full length coat.

This would look lovely also fab colour would pick up the little bits of orange in the dress

Something like these would look amazing aswell but only probably if you wanted to go all out wow! Add a clutch and strappy sandals voilà 👌

@Banjaxx for a cardigan I would've thought something more like this

FlappyValley · 10/02/2023 21:51

Agree with pp who said the coat needs to be short/cropped or full-length - anything below the waist and above the shin will look all wrong. It’s a really pretty dress!

MrsMiddleMother · 10/02/2023 21:56

I'd go for a long cream/camel coat

Lovely thank you I’ll have a look following your suggestions, it’ll be nippy I think! Nude block heels, they seem to go quite well :)

Agreed. Jacket should be no longer than waist lengt.

ZaZathecat · 11/02/2023 01:53

A long duster coat or cardigan, this sort of thing

That would work too. Either cropped or long but nothing in between.

Findyourneutralspace · 11/02/2023 09:56

Definitely agree about the length. It needs to be maxi or cropped.
