Facial fake tan recommendation please?

My body is still tanned slightly from the summer (I tan easily) but I wear spf 50 on my face all year long so it’s a bit pale.

I’d love to find a fake tan for my face but not used it before. Any recommendations?

In my 20’s people often used a ‘flash bronzer’ too but I’ve not heard of this recently.

I'd recommend an tanning oil that you add into your moisturiser. You stray with a few drops and can build it up gradually or put a few drops in for a darker glow. Both of the below are good.

a few Tan-Luxe’s The Face Illuminating Self-Tan Drops

Skinny Tan Notox Face Tanning Drops

*Start with a few drops

Drunk Elephant bronze drops are amazing!! Not fake tan but so lovely and versatile.

Montague22 · 05/02/2023 09:39

I like Tan Luxe drops too, I tend to do a couple drops in my moisturiser every other day.

QuizteamAguillera · 05/02/2023 10:25

Do you add the drops to your night time moisturiser or in the mornings?

I’m very thorough with my SPF so wouldn’t want to water it down IYSWIM

Tanologist face drops. I put in my evening moisturiser and they are fab. The most natural tan, it just looks like I’ve been out in the sun for a day. Lovely and fade well.

I came on to recommend these. I use them at night.

@QuizteamAguillera
I use tret at night so don’t mix anything in with that.
I mix mine in with my suncream which is LRP Anthelios, or if I put moisturiser on another time of day I might mix it with that.

Another vote for Tanologist, DD bought me them along with the brush for Christmas and they're great. I highly recommend the brush too, it makes a big difference.

Be careful. I was using st tropez tanning mist which is amazing but I was told tan effects your spf so should only be applied at night.

I googled it and it was correct.

I use tret too and have to be super vigilant with spf as I have melasma that darkens with the sun.

Oh FGS, thank you. I’ll have to miss every few nights and add more drops then.

If you use tan drops in your moisturiser at night, do you not get fake tan on your pillowcases?

I want to know this too as my bedding is white

Ostryga · 09/02/2023 07:11

I stick on old clean pillowcase on when I tan. Black works best!

SunshineAndFizz · 09/02/2023 07:19

I like the St Tropez face mist. Feels light, spray on before bed, doesn't feel like you have anything on. Smells nice too.

i used to swear by tanning drops (various brands) and mix with my nightcream but for the last few years I’ve switched to another tactic which is life changing!

I now use the Dripping Gold spray by Sosu - spray a few times on the face then use the Tanologist fake tan kabuki brush to brush it all into the contours of my face. It’s amazing as it means you don’t get your hands dirty, the spray is really light and doesn’t block your pores and it dries really quickly.

the spray is about £10 on lookfantastic (though you often get 20% off) and the brush is down to £9.99 at Superdrug atm.

I’ve recommended this to so many people and they also love it.

That’s a reasonable price too. Sounds like a good technique.

Does anyone know if the Drunk elephant D Bronzi drops have been discontinued as I can't find them anywhere. I still see them mentioned loads so can't imagine they have. I had one bottle and absolutely loved the product. Just wish I had bought more.

Laiste · 22/03/2023 14:48

St Tropez Facial mist here. One mist does plenty for me and lasts for 3 days ish. I like the fact you can easily mist down your back and over your shoulders a bit too. Very natural lightly tanned look for strapy tops ect.

Great idea of dark pillow case for tan nights. White bedding here too.
