Updating my style of jeans

I've been browsing threads here and have been reminded of Levi's. I had a pair in the 90s as a teenager and loved them. I had a look online and checked out my nearest shop. It's in a city I'll be visiting in a few weeks so I might go in.
I've been living in maternity clothes and M&S skinny jeggings for the last 5 or more years.
Stupid question, but should I literally go in, ask for help with the size and then grab one of each style and try them all on? Has anyone had a jeans revelation and left a shop with flares having worn skinnies for a decade?
It's also a loooong time since I was in a bricks and mortar store trying jeans on - it was always my least favourite shopping experience. But I suppose it's worth an hour (?) if I get a great pair of jeans

Have you got a John Lewis near you? If you do and if it’s anything like my branch then they not only have Levi’s but lots of different brands of jeans. I’d suggest maybe going there and trying lots of different ones on from different brands.

Hmmm I'm not in the UK but that's a good suggestion, I'll check out a department store

I thought I’d go into a Levi’s shop last week as I was struggling to decide on sizing. They were very helpful, but the range of styles they had in the shop was smaller than online. I didn’t try any on as they didn’t have the style I wanted, but basically they said to look around and they can help with missing sizes etc.

Ah, I was going to suggest going into a big M&S and trying on some of their styles to get used to different jeans. The M&S Boyfriend and Mom jeans are great.

But it doesn’t sound as if you are close to an M&S?

I find Levi shops slightly daunting so would prefer to go to a well stocked department store and try all their Levi’s on.
