Skincare products for reducing scars?

I wondered if anyone has any skincare recommendations for reducing scars? I slipped on ice in November and skinned my knee, and I’ve been left with an enormous purple scar basically covering my entire knee. When it was first healing I was putting sudocrem on it but that doesn’t seem to have helped the scar.

I’ve also got a couple of insect bite scars on my ankles from last summer that are equally as purple and just don’t seem to fade!

Any recommendations are very welcome 😊

Someone told me BioOil is very good. I have not tried it so can't confirm or deny. I used rosehip oil on my keyhole surgery scars for gallbladder removal and they have healed up very nicely and are hardly visible now, 8 or so months on.

Hello! I can recommend paw paw ointment. I used to buy the original one but a few weeks ago, I picked up a tube from aldi.
I am not exaggerating when I say I am amazed by it’s effectiveness.
I burnt my forearm by stupidly reaching over a boiling kettle, so got caught by the boiling steam and the hot metal spout of kettle. Massive red blistery scab.
Not kidding when I say you can hardly see it now (just tested this by asking DH if he could see it, and he said “what burn?”)
In fact, the only slight mark you can see now if you look hard enough was where I caught the healing scab on some rough cardboard when opening a parcel 😑

It might be a bit late but after plastic surgery my surgeon recommended Avene Cicalfate massaged into the incisions (to avoid bumpy scars and help healing) for the first few days. Once they were starting to heal and just mild ghosts of where incisions had been made, I moved to silicone tape.
