Help! What to pack for impromptu cat-ssitting in Lakes?

Will be spending 2 weeks in Windermere cat sitting for my elderly relative who is in hospital. Grin
This has turned up out of the blue and I will be heading off tomorrow early evening.
I have a Seasalt long waterproof coat and a few warm wool knits, but even after checking the weather apps I'm now flapping as to what's the best thing to focus on - I know it will likely be bloody cold and wet, and I won't be climbing any hills, so will a pair of jeans and some combats be sufficient?

I have a pair of leggings but hate them, and some converse and Docs.

What are you likely to be doing all day - visiting tea rooms? Walk around the town centres - Keswick? Visiting the beaches?

Smart, practical and suitable for changeable weather: nice jeans, flattering warm tops for when you are in towns, a decent coat and a smart handbag is what I wear when I'm not walking up hills or around lakes on rough paths.

Sounds great :- I love this area all year round!

Thank you!!!
Mostly working indoors, but will mooch about the towns, walk to the lakeside, etc. Nothing terribly exciting.
Won't be taking a vehicle so will be walking around local area and maybe take a bus to Ambleside for a look about.

Since I am travelling light I would prefer to only take one coat, so the long weatherproof is probably best, it's not shabby so shall do. Got a couple of donegal wool jumpers that are nice, not luxe, but very warm!

Got some nice cashmere accesories but if I recall the last time I visited Kendal the damp cold just tore right through cashmere like newspaper Grin

Pack Dreamies, lots of Dreamies. And a shoelace, ribbon, string or feathery thing. Pack them all a cardboard box. Then when you get there the cat will sit in the box and only be tempted out by everything else you've cunningly brought too!

Oh you meant for pack for you? 😅

Lol, my old cat used to LOVE Dreamies! This is very good advice.

Heavy duty gloves to avoid bites and thick trousers to avoid scratches!
