Anyone know the best place to get good quality basic t-shirt type tops. Feel
like I need to throw all mine and start again. Tried all the usual high street shops next, new look, etc. Not good quality at all. Happy to pay more for something thats good and will last a lot longer than the normal shops do, also want better quality. I read on here in the past Cos where good who I hadnt heard of before. However Im a size 16-18 and most of there tops are slim fitted so not sure that would be good for me dont want anything tight. Thanks for any help.

Uniqlo or H&M are my go to for things like this.

Maybe Landsend.

Superdry. Heavy weight cotton t’s. You have to wade through all the logo’d stuff and the sizing is all over the place, but the quality is great. Wash and wear really well.

I love FatFace t-shirts. Very soft and hold their shape. I tend to stick up when they have sales on

PecanNut00 · 29/01/2023 09:47

Cos, Whistles and Arket are all good for better quality t-shirts.

OxanaVorontsova · 29/01/2023 09:49

Arket or cos

I've got some good basic t shirts from Bam. Might still be in the sale too. Wash well and lovely and soft

Rapanui

I love Hush Avalon t shirts.
Pure cotton, slouchy & look good even at a size 16. I also rate the Henley style.
Superdry t shirts are brilliant quality & seem to be but do they do slouchy? My size 8 dd's look fantastic in them they're pretty fitted.

ANewDayDawned · 29/01/2023 09:55

bambooclothing.co.uk/shop/origin-bamboo-t-shirt-charcoal-marl/ I've got these. Alternatively if you want a looser fit you could go for a men's one. My dh has some and they're lovely. I'd also recommend h&m men's t shirts, I often nab my DHs when I want something over sized. They seem to wash well and last

Uniqlo, Community Clothing, Finisterre all good quality for basics.

FallonofDynasty · 29/01/2023 12:35

Landsend are good, as are Mango

I like modal or modal blend t-shirts, love the way they hang. I have a couple from "Soaked in Luxury" sold in John Lewis and another from Morrisons Nutmeg (Grin) of all places (lucky buy, not sure they always stock them). Not sure if they will be long lasting but v nice.

aramox1 · 29/01/2023 14:15

Cos medium in the relaxed cut tops is fine for size 16-18

Nik2879 · 29/01/2023 14:20

Thanks so much everyone lots of brands here I hadnt heard of so will have a look so glad I asked. Ive wasted so much money over the years. You wouldnt think basic tops that last would be so hard to find.

Second fatface. Have a look at their sale, I recently got a long sleeved top and a t shirt for £15 each, I already have both styles and wore the t shirt one about 3 times a week through spring and summer for 2 years and it's only just starting to look raggedy.

midsomermurderess · 29/01/2023 16:01

Poetry does good quality linen and flax blend tops and t shirts. They’re not cheap mind.
