Question for those with rook or daith piercings

I want to have one of these done, and would like to wear a hoop in it. However, I have a conch piercing, and can't wear a hoop in that because the hoops would slide around, and that would irritate the piercing and it would get sore/oozy. I'm wondering whether/hoping that as the rook or daith piercing would be more 'sheltered' within the ear, there would be less movement in the hoop. Any thoughts?

TIA

I’m also hoping to get a rook piercing, so following this to see the replies.

I’ve got a daith piercing and I wear a hoop with a small crystal on it. It does move around because sometimes the bit with the crystal is at the bottom or top and I have to move it back to the middle. But I’ve never had any issues with it at all. I love it!

I've never had a problem with the hoop in my rook piercing and it healed fast. Wasn't uncomfortable to sleep on either😀

I loved my rook piercing but had to reluctantly let it go as it kept getting infected and refused to heal. Even though it was sheltered inside my ear it was very uncomfortable to sleep on.

Sorry, missing the point slightly but I couldn't have had a hoop in mine. They look good though, if you can cope with it.

I have a Daith with a crystal clicker hoop in. It is by far my favourite piercing and the easiest to heal so far as it’s so well tucked away. Not everyone has the right ear anatomy for a Daith though so have a plan B.
It’s a very different look to a conch hoop though, it’s much more subtle and I think a rook would be too. Have you looked at a conch chain as an option?

I have both. My rook was initially pierced with a barbell and was tough to heal so I’m glad I didn’t have a ring in it to start with, though I now wear a tiny hoop in it. My daith was pierced with a hoop in the first place - I don’t think they use bars in them, I’ve never seen one even in hours of Instagram “research” - and was the easiest of my piercings to heal (I have lots in my ears).

My piercer says it’s more to do with the curve on the hoop than the movement of it with regards to initial piercings, and the management of swellings, and because the daith ring is quite large it’s fine for it to be done that way in the first place.

My daith was pierced with a bar. I changed it for a hoop but in the end after a couple of years it migrated and I had to take it out. It was so close to the edge.
I have a hoop in my conch piercing and it's fine.

I have a daith with hoop, conch with stud. I sometimes wear a ring in my conch but, like you, it gets irritated. Piercer warned me about this as it was pierced with a straight stud so swapping it to a curved ring will cause irritation, I can never seem to see the irritation stage through so always end up swapping it back! The daith on the other hand, I never even notice. Go for it!

Thanks all for the advice! Got a daith piercing today. Love it! And it was much less painful than I expected - less so than my helix and conch.

I have a daith with a hoop and a crystal . It's about a year now , healed nicely but took a while .

It does tuck nicely into my ear .
My only gripe is , I cannot see it easily like I can see my lobe piercings , I have to have the mirror at the right angle . I haven;t changed it yet .

It really didn't hurt . You might get a bit of jaw ache tomorrow .
I was waiting for the pain or the crunch but when he said "That's the worse bit done" I was gobsmacked !
