How long can I keep mixed hair dye?

So I'd just got some L'Oréal preference mixed up ready to put on my horrible roots and my 1 year old wakes up.

I'm now knackered from dealing with baby and wondering if I can use it in the morning or will it be terrible terrible idea?

I thought you had to use them right away once they’ve been mixed.

Developer won’t be active too long so unfortunately using the mixed dye tomorrow will most likely do nothing. It might add some darker hues but not lighten or deposit the colour as you would expect.

I don’t think your hair would fall out, but the dye won’t be effective. Worst case scenario, just buy another box of colour.
