Hair appliances in USA

It's months away but I'm already thinking about what to bring for my hair on a USA trip.

Normally I travel with a Revlon hot brush, which I understand is not dual voltage.

If you have travelled there and have a love affair with a particular hair appliance, how have you managed? I'm wondering if I should just buy another when I get there.

Revlon hot brush is $37 on Amazon, probably easier just to buy one when you get here. I did the same in reverse when I went to the UK last time then just left it behind as it's so bulky to try and pack.

Thanks @BackToWhereItAllBegan

I assume Amazon US is similar to what I'm used to and will deliver next day? Or I might even contact my hotel and see if I can have something delivered there for arrival.

In case it's not clear - I really really rely on this brush Grin

Why can't you just take a travel adaptor?

StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf · 17/01/2023 00:59

@ouch321 I am reading conflicting information about whether or not heated hair appliances work properly with the lower voltage using an adaptor. Do you have any advice based on experience?

@StrawHatOnTheParcelShelf Depending on which area you're going too, Amazon will deliver either the same day overnight. If the hotel doesn't accept deliveries then just have it sent to a nearby locker to pick up when you arrive.
If there's a Target, Bed Bath & Beyond or Ulta nearby, they all sell it too.

I'm in Canada & I still use my uk dryer, straightners & hot brush. I just use an adapter plug. Alternatively you could pick something up at a reasonable price at target or Walmart.

Your UK one will blow the tiniest puff of warm-ish air on North American electrics. Good that you are planning ahead!

@Onesailwait I'm in Canada too! When we moved back here I had to replace my Bsbyliss Big Hair brush. What's your secret?!?

Onesailwait · 17/01/2023 01:11

@HeartsTrumpDiamonds - not sure, I've never had a problem. I'm still using my ghd 's from 10 yrs ago & they're holding up😄

Thanks everyone, super helpful!
