How to get rid of blackheads

Does anyone have any tips that actually work for getting rid of blackheads?

I feel like I’ve tried everything but nothing gets rid of them… my nose is particularly bad but also have quite a lot on my forehead.

I don’t wear foundation or anything on my face other than cleanser & moisturiser to try and avoid blocking my pores but any tips would be really appreciated!

Retinol. But do take advice on how to use it/build up tolerance and always use a sun protection.

Retinoids are vitamin A derivatives commonly used in “anti-aging” skin care products. However, topical retinoids are also the first-line treatment for treating and preventing blackheads. Retinoids work by unclogging blocked pores and affecting skin cell growth, which helps to prevent acne formation.

I think the only way to get rid of them is to squeeze them out.
I (try to) cleanse and moisturise twice a day and my pores are always blocked by evening time. I find a good diet helps and plenty of water.

Look up the oil cleansing method. Oil dissolves oil. Then you can steam.
Also look up make your own pore cleansing strips. Biore used to do one but it was £££.

If you have large pores you can't really do anything but calm the skin down and cover them up. Seamed 5.5 face and body wash is great for greasy skin.

I didn't know retinol helped them but since I started using it for anti-aging mine have cleared up loads. I've literally spent the past twenty years attacking them with no success!

Are they definitely blackheads or could they be sebaceous filaments?

BHA exfoliator every other day at night before moisturiser

@ThePoshUns any other Paula's choice recommendations for 46 year old skin with mild Rosacea. Shld i use cleanser every day - i don't use foundation (skin to flaky these days).

The actives for unblocking pores are:
Retinol
Niacinamide
BHA ie salicylic acid

I think azelaic acid is also supposed to help?

I think the nose poor stops feel rewarding, but long term they actually make things worse.

Black mask. DO NOT put it over your eyebrows or it will rip them out. I don't have blackheads anymore as I'm 60 but during the menopause I had loads and you can just see them being sucked off.
Amazon don't have them any more but I'm sure you can order it elsewhere.
