Lost so hair due to weave, will it grow back?

I left my weave in for too long and so much of my hair has just snapped off. I can also see that my hair is thinning...maybe that's just age though.

Will my hair grow back? If my hair has been lost at the root will that grow back?

It should do OP, even if the root has come out, because hair grows from the hair follicle. It might take a little while, but unless you suffer from hair loss for some other reason I would expect it to grow back again.
