I need a new light hair oil

I would be so grateful for recommendations. I currently use Shu Uemura hair oil and I really love it, but the price has risen so much I can't justify it any more. Two bottles a year was fine at £36 but the cheapest I can find now is £52.

I have fine light brown hair so I am looking for an alternative which is light, non-greasy and won't weigh my hair down. Has anyone tried anything similar that works well but costs less?

I just need to avoid anything coconut scented, up for trying anything else. Thanks in advance!

I use the Percy and Reed No Oil Oil which is really light but still gives a good smoothing effect. I have fine hair, but loads of it and most oils give me really flat roots.

I got a kerasatase one last week which is nice, was about £32.

Liz Earle hair oil is lovely, non greasy and lightweight. I think it's around £20 usually. Lasts ages so I haven't needed to buy any for a while!

I like the Liz Earle and Mark Hill oils.

I use a Superdrug argan oil and it’s fab and cheap as chips

Lincolnforever · 09/01/2023 23:09

I use kerastse

fucketyfuckwit · 09/01/2023 23:16

I have fine hair and use Moroccan oil

Emmalou0607 · 09/01/2023 23:28

Bumble & bumble invisible hair oil. Normally lasts me about a year and is around £30-£35. I have long, thinish light brown hair and never makes it look greasy.

So many options, thank you! My only question is do any of these smell of coconut in any way? It makes me nauseous so I would hate to waste a whole bottle and unfortunately I can smell it a mile off!

Moroccan oil smells divine- No coconut in sight

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 11/01/2023 18:38

Liz Earle - it smells florally but it does contain coconut oil

musicmum75 · 11/01/2023 18:39

Liz Earle and Mark Hill don't smell of coconut.

The first two ingredients in your hair oil seem to be silicones which are not good for hair. I use organic argon oil which is amazing and food grade so no added nasties, if you like that particular oil so much then why not see if you can just buy the base oil (camellia) from somewhere. Then there won't be silicones and other things added to it.

Thanks very much for the coconut top ups everyone, I will be shopping this weekend!

Moroccan oil has my vote, no coconut & smells lovely ☺️

Olaplex - don’t be fooled by the size of the bottle. I have long extremely thick hair and managed 8months ish with my last bottle.

AnneShirleysNewDress · 13/01/2023 21:05

Davines oi oil. I got it in an advent calendar and it's amazing. I have fine, flyaway hair and it's made such a difference.

Rina66 · 13/01/2023 21:13

Totally agree with @AnneShirleysNewDress I got the oil in the Liberty Advent Calendar, it's so good and smells gorgeous, I'll definitely be buying another - I usually use Olaplex, Davines is definitely better on my hair.

wateraddict · 15/03/2023 12:56

I went for Davines oi oil first and it's lovely. Really moisturising and smells good. I will try others too, thanks all very much!
