Charlotte Tilbury - what's good?

Hi I got a voucher for Christmas and the Charlotte tilbury make up looks good. I have the airbrush powder and finishing spray - what else is good? Does the flawless filter work on scaring?

The magic Eye cream is fantastic. Also love the eye crayons, a quick swish and I'm set for the day, great colours too. Love the pillow talk push up mascara, tightliner and mascara all in one and the pillow talk lip liner and lipstick. The lip liner is the best ive tried, and I've been through a good amount.

Sisisimone · 08/01/2023 10:32

Oh and I use the eye crayons daily with contact lenses with no problems

PrinceofWails · 08/01/2023 10:37

Magic Cream is the sort of heavy duty moisturiser you see MUAs briskly massaging into models' shiny faces after quick backstage changes - it's really thick and needs to be warmed in your hands before it sinks in. I mean, obvs that's what CT is selling, that proximity to backstage fashion, but once you hear Nivea in your head... I liked it, but wouldn't buy again.

Eyeshadow palettes are ok but very tiny, and the shadows seal over if you use your fingers. (I guess all shadows do, but it's annoying when one of your tiny shades is a shimmery veil you're meant to 'pat over' the lid).

I like the magic cream not like Nivea at all, however if you shop online you can normally choose free samples of the cream. Flawless filter won't cover, just adds glow.

I'm afraid it is.

Cantonet · 08/01/2023 12:00

The pillow talk lip liner is worth it alone.

fajitaaaa · 08/01/2023 12:06

Ok I've gone for eyes to mesmerise in exaggereyes and an eyecheat nude eyeliner.

Thanks again for all your help! I'm a bit dubious about makeup brands doing skin care.

How do people use the flawless filter thing? I’ve always wondered!

After my moisturiser and primer, I just put a little on. It is lovely but as a poster said above, there are good dupes around from the likes of elf and primark.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 08/01/2023 12:43

@Motorcycleemptyness

Personally I use it as a primer under my foundation or mix a blob in with foundation. I tend to use fairly matte foundations so it makes them a bit more glowy.

Some people use it as a highlighter and use along cheekbones etc but it's too subtle on me for that.

Collection do a very good copy of the flawless filter for about £6.99 called Filter Finish. It does exactly the same job on
my skin ( dryish, 50s, white -roughly NC20-25 for reference).

FrangipaniBlue · 08/01/2023 13:08

Going against the grain but I love magic cream, have used it for years..... tried switching to Nivea as I'd heard all the tales of it being the same..... nope, didn't do the same for my skin at all!!

I also use the miracle glow as a cleanser to take my makeup off, love it!

Flawless filter is basically just a luminous tinted moisturiser - I use it on its own as just that bit under a foundation? Not really worth it.

LottieTx · 08/01/2023 13:15

OP I’ve pretty much tried all of the CT products. The exaggereyes eyes to mesmerise pot is very glittery - doesn’t look it on the site pics but it’s very glittery so be aware of that before you buy.

ELF does a dupe of the flawless filter which IMO is actually better.

my fave CT products are;
the lipsticks
pillowtalk lipliner
the eyeshadow quads
the cream bronzer - this is really nice
legendary lashes mascara

I actually really like the magic cream but the magic cream light is better.

At the moment I think they are doing a free skin care gift with a spend over £85 and it includes a sample pot of the magic cream.

CJCreggsGoldfish · 08/01/2023 13:22

I’m another one that loves magic cream. I had a sample of the under eye magic cream and love that too.

I have the beautiful skin foundation which suits my skin and an eyeshadow pallet which I’d purchase again.

I don’t think the concealer is worth it and the eyebrow pencil isn’t anything special either.

rebecca100 · 08/01/2023 13:25

Beautiful skin foundation and the beautiful skin cream bronzer 👌🏻

Cincinnatus · 08/01/2023 13:26

Really like pillow talk diamonds but I hate that you get a small lipstick. Expensive for what you get.

SueD1 · 08/01/2023 13:29

I got the cream bronzer (beautiful skin) for Christmas and love it; also love the beautiful skin foundation (in a tube) - really nice glow. Will def repurchase both.
Have eyeshadow quad and think it’s expensive for what it is.
Lovely things to cheer up jan - enjoy!

AlaskaThunderfuckHiiiiiiiii · 08/01/2023 13:33

Beautiful skin foundation, Hollywood flawless filter, the lipsticks, I like the eyebrow products also.

I LOVE magic cream, I changed to something else for a while as others have pointed out it is expensive but the other moisturiser did not make my skin as soft, or give it the glow that magic cream does so I save up for it now

20viona · 08/01/2023 13:39

The lipsticks are lovely and stay on well. My favourite was the duchess shade but they have discontinued it now.

fajitaaaa · 08/01/2023 13:41

The lipsticks looked nice but I think I'd want to have a proper look in store for them

I do really like the pillow talk lipstick and pencil. The pencil is my favourite lipliner. The lip stick is a little too matte for my liking so I use a balm over it.

I ordered these recently and was really excited to get them but frankly I really don’t like either of them. Unpleasant texture to both, I’ll stick with Lisa Eldridge in future. I did, however, love the legendary and brow cheat brows pencil and gel.

Try the olay glow

user8912 · 08/01/2023 14:13

I personally love the magic cream, only moisturiser I keep going back to. Also like the magic serum.

PoloAllsort · 08/01/2023 17:07

I love the CY eyeshadow quads.

LadyOfTheCanyon · 09/01/2023 10:40

Olay Glow is absolutely NOTHING like Magic Cream. It's full of silicones and works more like a primer. Very little hydrating properties at all. The texture is completely different. Much more like Porefessional. Not knocking it per se, but it does a different job altogether.

Olay Regenerist Ultra Rich day cream is a bit nearer Magic Cream in texture and hydrating properties and is currently on 2 for 1 at Superdrug. But around the £35 mark, so it's an expensive mistake to make if you know you like Magic cream in the first place ( that said the Olay is currently on Amazon at 66%off!)

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 09/01/2023 10:55

I like the lipstick and I hate lipstick normally. Only used it as it was used for my wedding.

Theheartsinvisiblefuries · 09/01/2023 10:59

I like the pillow talk lip liner. However, the eye crayons are awful. They crease, travel and fade. Not good. The lipsticks are ok but very matte. Not worth the money imo
