Arrghh fringe cut too short!

Bloody hairdresser!! I went in last week to have fringe trim. She was distracted and upon inspection this week, she didn't take enough off. So, I popped in today and she has now taken too much off!! I was specific about how I wanted it, but did she listen??

Grrrhh.. it will take a couple of weeks to grow now!!

Anyone else ever had fringe disaster ( just to make me feel better!) ?

I had a fringe cut in yesterday (exactly how I asked for it) and it’s SO short, I think I hate it but people have complimented it today so I don’t know what to think, but I have only myself to blame unfortunately Grin

Mamette · 07/01/2023 14:59

Yea I have, a few times. It’s awful but honestly it will grow so quickly.

Runaround50 · 07/01/2023 15:01

Ah I'm sure yours looks fine😀

I always have mine trimmed so it sits on my eyebrow, but not this time! Huge sigh 🤦‍♀️

@Mamette yes you are right, it will grow. Just going to avoid the mirror for the next couple of weeks!

Clip it back until it grows!

It’s an inch above my eyebrows 😅 ever seen Dumb and Dumber? 😂

MavisMcMinty · 07/01/2023 15:19

Heh - I always insist my hairdresser cuts my fringe way too short, as it’s the fringe getting too long that makes me go for a haircut. It grows back, and quickly!

Runaround50 · 07/01/2023 15:34

@WetBandits 😆 mine isn't far off dumb and dumber!

@MavisMcMinty roll on the fringe growing, it can't look any worse than it does already! 🤞

You have my sympathy. This has happened to me so many times that I no longer trust a hairdresser to cut my fringe - I just get the rest cut by them and trim the fringe myself at home.

tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz · 07/01/2023 16:12

After much enthusiasm from my lovely hairdresser who I trust completely after 7 years of great work I've decided to take the plunge to have a fringe cut in (pic attached, my hair is similar in texture) in a few weeks.

After a lifetime of v v v low maintenance each and wear type hair I've been down about how peri menopause has affected its texture and condition. So I'm a bit worried that having to blow dry it every am is going to be too much of a ball ache or it'll just look shit in my Rod Stewart locks!

I need to be brave Grin

tellme I've got a fringe and I vanishingly rarely blow-dry it, or any other part of my hair - it makes it go too straight and flyaway. I like the length of fringe in that picture but I would want it wavier to go with the rest of the hairstyle.

RichardsGear · 07/01/2023 16:25

I've had the too-short fringe disaster before. Had to walk round with my eyebrows permanently raised to try and minimise the effect until it grew in a bit 😆.

That's good to know. Actual if it's one thing my mop does naturally well it's wave Grin

Mogloveseggs · 07/01/2023 16:33

Are you me? This happens every time I go to mine! I console myself with the fact that I can eek out haircuts as I can see for longer 🤣

ramabanana · 07/01/2023 16:51

I only ever cut it myself as the couple weeks of straightening it to death or wearing a hat to flatten it down to the eyebrows gets old real quick

@tellmewhentheLangshiplandscoz

I’m not sure if it’ll work for you but I brush all my hair to the front (like cousin it) then roughly blow dry all over
The weight/cover of the hair keeps the fringe from moving so it drys nice and straight with no effort

TreacleTart8 · 07/01/2023 17:03

Fringe wearer also, had a couple of shockers. Red lipstick and a stripy top in a bid to look kooky rather than dumb and dumber

I think that's how she described it too. It will be good for me to up my game. Plus a sudden habit of my eyelids to break out on occasional eczema(thanks Peri!) means my lids suddenly look horribly aged so I'm hoping a fringe may help hide this.

Runaround50 · 07/01/2023 21:02

Thanks all.
Just going to have to sit this one out for a bit I think 🤦‍♀️
