Home Hair Dye Recommendations

I have my short hair coloured every 5 weeks or so, I have cool mid to light brown hair with quite a bit of grey but it’s a smattering of hairs rather than a grey root line. I’d like to try to do this myself. During lockdown I used the John Frieda foam kit which was ok but left my hair quite dry. It’s also messy and although I went for a cool shade it turned orangey quite quickly.
I’ve been looking at Josh Wood which has reasonable reviews, has anyone tried it or any other recommendations? I’m pretty rubbish at doing it so it needs to be foolproof! Thanks 🙏

ive used various dyes over the years and i keep going back to either nice and easy or garnier natrisse - they cover my greys very well and if i didnt dye my hair i would be fully grey

I didn't find that Nice n Easy wired on my greys. I have switched to Schwartzkopf Poly Colour. It's only £2 a box and covers the grey better than any I've tried. I have a lot of hair and need 2 boxes, so it's good value for money.
