Eyebrow dye that dyes skin too?

I'm going to try and dye my brows. I have very thin overplucked 90s disasters. I spend every morning pencilling/powdering them in. Hate waking up at my boyfriends with one eyebrow intact and the other one a pammy anderson special.

So... can you get a dye that will dye the skin too as I need to fill in where I have none. They look great / natural when I do them and it blends well with what hair I have. I just want a longer effect without doing it every morning and touching up later in the day.

Help please??xx

I’m doing mine for the first time ever today, got some eyelure. I’m clueless but happy to report back. Mine aren’t overplucked just naturally a bit short and quite fair.

I used just for men beard dye and it seemed to last longer than eye brow dye!

SmileyClare · 05/01/2023 09:40

You can stain the skin slightly but that will wash away in a few days.
Eyebrow dye isn’t designed to dye skin- imagine if you made a mistake and dripped some on your nose for example.

Henna brow treatment done professionally will temporarily dye skin for 2-6 weeks.
Tattooing is the only permanent way to dye skin.

You could try brow growth treatments or dye your brows and use a brow powder to fill gaps.

Thanks for the replies! I think I'll go to a salon for a henna tint and then hopefully get the courage from there to go more permanent. I definitely need alot of filling in!

Maybelline do a brow tattoo that you paint on and then peel off, it leaves a stain on the skin behind

Micro blading may be an option to consider too.

jasysbutton · 05/01/2023 10:43

Thanks @NHSmummy84 this might very well be an option for now!

I'm just so used to shaping my brows my way and scared of getting a more permanent fix but really I think microblading with shading is what I need. Maybe if I get henna done at the salon I'll feel more confident about a more defined brow shape 🤞xx

I was going to say the same as @NHSmummy84

I like the Maybelline brow tattoo, it stains the skin so fills in my sparse eyebrows and last around 2-3 days

Takes a bit of trial and error to get the timings right as to how long to leave it on for

jasysbutton · 05/01/2023 14:30

@Lemoncurtain what colour do you use? I'm concerned about orangey tones. I'm dark so would normally go for dark brown but don't want it too dark?

@jasysbutton I use medium brown and haven't found it orangey at all - if you leave it on too long it goes very dark, almost black, but around 30 mins is perfect for me.

AnotherCountryMummy · 05/01/2023 14:50

I use one called Appraise, which you can buy on Amazon or at Sally's or other beauty suppliers. It does slightly tint the skin, but as pps have said, it will wash off in a few days.

jasysbutton · 05/01/2023 14:56

@Lemoncurtain I might try the medium brown then as best not to go too dark!x thankyou

I use the same and no orangey tones at all. 20 mins for me and lasts optimistically 2 days (3 if you squint) but that's because I also use eyebrow gel and so it comes off when I take my make up off. Might last longer if you weren't touching your brows with any extra make up.

jasysbutton · 05/01/2023 20:23

@LadyOfTheCanyon thanks! I'm going to try medium brown and see how I go 🤞x wish I'd never plucked them so much in youth!

How did you get on Jasy?

@jasysbutton how did you get on?

jasysbutton · 11/02/2023 09:16

I want for henna brows. Very subtle shape etc. I'm hoping once wears off it will give me a good outline until the next appt. I'm not keen on microblading etc atm.
