How go dress for a Mehendi?

I have been invited as a guest to a Mehendi, and confused with attire. The bride has asked guests to wear traditional attire as a good opportunity to embrace the culture and fully immerse ourselves in the celebrations. I am happy to do so but I am unfamiliar with the correct attire. Could anyone point me in the right direction of where I should be looking to buy something appropriate?

Where are you based? If in/around London, you could visit the S Asian shops in Wembley or Southall. Mehendis are very colourful affairs. Instead of forking out, perhaps see if you could find something second hand or a rental?

More colourful the better. Something you could dance in would also help.
These are simple ones but as pp says better to have a browse if you live closer to Asian shops

I'd borrow rather than splash out on something you'll not wear again. If you have a v colourful dress that's A line, you could add leggings and a scarf to it to make it feel like a kameez.

A longish maxi dress would also do.

Have you any Asian friends or neighbours? I'd be happy to lend you something. Assume many would. Good luck!

Agree with pp I would ask the bride or friends if they have anything you can borrow.

It’s really difficult knowing what is/isn’t in fashion, and it could be a big expense for a one-wear item.

Also check if the bride is wanting everyone to wear a specific colour.
