What glasses shapes make you feel good?

And why?

What styles do you hate on you?

I generally think I look better without glasses. I have however recently realised round shaped glasses make me feel almost as good as without glasses. I have some rose gold ones and now decided to order some clear ones.

I have an oval / slightly heart shaped face (think it’s in between) and quite an ahem ‘strong’ nose so I prefer anything on or near my face to be ‘soft’ e.g hair better wavy.

Angular shapes look awful on me and small glasses would make my nose look like a giant potato!

Interested to hear others loves and hates! 😁

Because of my strong prescription I can only have small lenses which don't look that great. Being half blind and unable to wear contacts I just have to put up with them though. I prefer rounder styles.

I like round.
I like cat eye but they just don't suit me. And dislike small rectangles.

I look ridiculous in all glasses

Aw I feel for you! I’m guessing they would just be too heavy otherwise?

Also not a fan of small rectangles!

You need to get frames that suit your face.

So what suits one person doesn't suit another.

Some opticians have individual staff members who are good at encouraging you to choose the right frame for your face and colouring.

I just got these ones but in clear and I’m very excited!

Likewise. It's depressing.

InsertSomethingMotivationalHere · 01/01/2023 19:52

Cats eye/fifties style suit me best - nothing much else does, but I'd like to try some big, tortoiseshell geek-type frames

crankyhousewife · 01/01/2023 19:56

No they wouldn't be too heavy but because of the strong prescription and high prism they'd be too thick, even using the thinnest possible lenses.

MadisonAvenue · 01/01/2023 19:56

I think I look better in glasses, a Wayfarer sort of style suits me best.

shivermetimbers77 · 01/01/2023 20:00

I look pretty terrible in all glasses shapes too! I am very short sighted so have to wear the but honestly, trying on glasses is more depressing than trying on jeans. I always go through every pair in the shop before settling on a pair I ruled out hours ago..

TheGirlOnTheLanding · 01/01/2023 20:18

I like round or cats eye frames rather than rectangular but for me the size is more important than the shape: glasses that are too small or sit at the wrong place on my face just look awful. I've tried to buy new glasses twice over the last few years but found that trying glasses on with a mask made it too hard to decide if they worked.
