Which hair straighteners are best for hair?!

I have GHDs but rarely use them, as I'm concerned the heat would ruin the condition of my hair. Would it actually be fine?! If not, are there hair straighteners that protect hair from heat damage?!

Thanks for any advice on this!

I don't really use straighteners but my dd does and she finds ghd less damaging that her cheaper ones.

GHDs or Cloud Nine I think are the better ones on the market. I'm not sure any are particularly better than others for heat protection, you'll probably need to use a product on your hair beforehand in that respect.

I use cloud nine which are much better for my hair because it doesn’t need high temperatures to straighten it. I use 135-150 degrees. My hair was frazzled when I used to use GHDs

It's expensive but I'm looking into a L'Oreal Steampod for the same reason.

I've been using the L'Oréal Steampod 3 for the last few years. It's a game changer for my curly, frizzy and thick hair. Way better than my old GHDs and T3s. Less damage and no crispy ends.

They've just bought out the new version which I'm thinking of buying as it advertises even less damage than #3 and the curling plates look good too.

I've had Cloud 9's for a few years now and they're good. I always use a heat defence spray though before I blow dry/straighten my hair.

Agree with Steampod. I’ve used GHD for years but these things are another level again over standard heat straighteners.
much kinder to the hair and leave it silky soft, shiny and straight. I find my hair doesn’t get as greasy as quickly when using them over the GHD.

I know the deionised water puts some people off, but if you buy it from a local car parts place rather than the dedicated beauty websites it’s about a fiver for five litres which will frankly last for years.

I bought the barbie version. I hate pink things in general but they were on offer at the time and £40 cheaper than the white ones 😂
