What to ask hairstyles to get this?

I’ve been getting highlights and it’s very bright and blonde but I feel like because it’s so blonde it only looks good when it’s curled.

I have very thick straight hair so it doesn’t hold curls well and I’m generally very bad at styling my hair.

My question is what type of blonde highlights/balayage would look good on specifically straight hair? I’m not sure what to ask for at my hairdressers.

Tell the hairdresser what you've written here. Ask them to show you how to style your hair too.

Curls often hold better in day old/dirty hair than they do in freshly washed hair.

FWIW, balayage looks better on curled haired, so if you mostly wear your hair straight, tell your hairdresser so they can adapt how they colour your hair accordingly.

I think lots of layers look nice on straight blond hair. I have straight dark hair and you can't see the layers unless styled.
