What footwear with this dress?

evening all

I am starting a new role in January and have been trying to update my work wardrobe - it used to be office wear - shift dresses and suits etc but now less formal
I have bought this mint velvet dress which I quite like but not sure what shoes - no longer keen on high heels - flat black loafers ? Black court shoes ? Shoe boots ? Not sure I can pull off the cream boots look - I want to look ok and appropriate at 52! Any suggestions gratefully received or is dress a no go ?

I love that dress. I would wear with loafers or brogues- black or brown. Or knee length boots

I'd wear that with heeled ankle boots, ideally tan but maybe black suede. Or heeled tan leather or black suede knee highs.

Clarks does some good, chunky loafers although only the black now seem left in most sizes. I also have these from M & S. I can’t tell you how comfortable they are.

Whilst I don't necessarily dislike the dress, I think (on the model anyway so it may be that she is tall and that distorts things) that it hits at an awkward length to be a match with most footwear. I can only really see it working with longer boots or something with a heel as per the images.

I quite like the white boots look. If not, I'd probably wear it with flat ankle boots like these: www.mintvelvet.co.uk/products/lydia-black-leather-boots Might also wear it with heeled ankle boots if for a smarter occasion.

I'm not wild about chunky brogues with dresses this length - I think they can look awkward (on me, anyway), but then the boots probably wouldn't be a lot of others' picks.

Thanks I have some heels brown sock boots which work but can’t find any lower heeled long sock boots at a reasonable price

Or more fashionable brown suede cowboy style ankle/calf height boot? Wedge heel shoe boot? Chunky calf length platform boot?
