Floaty Maxi Dresses/Scarlett and Joe.

Hello there,

I didn’t know how to head my subject so I hope it’s not misleading.

I rather quickly need a long, floaty maxi dress for a day into evening reception.

I live in the Middle East where there’s no such thing as being overdressed for a wedding but this is the first daytime reception I’ll be going to. I really fancy something different to what I’d normally wear to a wedding and whilst browsing I came across Scarlett & Joe. There are some very nice dresses on the website and whilst not floaty or boho in the style I wanted they would do.

I thought I had a good month to find something but I’m having a knee replaced in two weeks and the chances are I’ll still be strapped up for the wedding. To be frank I now just want a dress and though I have plenty of dresses to wear they’re not what I want to wear to this wedding. I want summery and floaty rather than evening and formal.

I usually order online and have 3 or 4 dresses sent from Nordstrom then return the ones that don’t suit. But I’m bloody exhausted with this injured leg and all I want is a dress, even a few to try on and if they never get sent back I can just keep them for another time.

God knows why I fancy flowery and floaty. But I do. I’m mid 60’S, a tall size 18 - 20 and my weight is on my tummy.

Does anyone have any suggestions please.

thank you.

Sorry, colour wise I’m a HOC true summer so anything in that kind of colour scheme would be ideal. Thank you

I used to be a similar shape to you, this is the sort of dress I'd wear

gettingstuffed, that dress is lovely and very similar to what I’d normally go for.

I’d love to be able to wear it but I need to wear a bra and to have a more of a sleeve. And I can see now that’s what it is - the sleeved versions of your choice kind of makes it more formal than what I want it to be.

Im going to have another look on some other sites and use your fabulous choice to keep me focused. I think the Scarlett and Joe is too casual for where I live and I need to still be formal but more of a casual formal.

thank you so much for your help.

Scamp and dude, dancing leopard. Maybe both too casual for you though
