Tried and tested: clothes recommendations for the fuller of bust

Inspired by the positive response to my thread searching for fuller bust instagrammers who show clothes not just lingerie... Here's the place to post clothes we've tried that actually fit.

All that time spent wandering shops and browsing websites, only to find that 90% doesn't work when we try it on, let's make it a bit easier.

Celestine dress from Whistles
I'll start things off with this one, available in a few colours.

I wear it for work all the time. Fits well (I'm 34J and size 14).

Whistles jumpsuit also this one.

I have ordered a couple of things in the sales from other places so wil report back.

I can tell you what didn't work,I'm a 34dd, I ordered the pour moi black satin shirt for fully busts in a 12 and yes it fitted but it was a fitted look not the style I wanted, was hoping for a bit of looseness if that make sense. So I ordered the lace shirt in a size 14 thinking they must come up small, but it was way to big, so I give , and I'm still on the search for a satin shirt that doesn't gape at the bust.

Ah yes, what didn't work. Also useful.

I have just bought this dress in the Boden sale Boden dress. Really pleased with it. I'm 5,10, size 16 36H, and it is a very flattering fit. I bought longer length and it's just above my knee.

Not a specific item but my favourite "dressy" look is a slim fit ditsy print blouse, black floral (that would normally gape) worn not fully buttoned over a black vest. Very flattering. A large blouse/shirt just makes me look "big" all over but a fitted one is much more flattering.
Size 12 mostly but 34F so 14 in tops.

It’s not that difficult tbh unless you’re specifically looking for stiff cotton button up shirts/fitted dresses which I agree can be a challenge: instead try fluid silk shirts a bit oversized but tucked into jeans/trousers/skirts.
Boden and Sezanne silk shirts fit me fine a size up (14 instead of my real size 12, I’m a G/GG cup)

Otherwise look for stretch cotton jersey dresses and tops as they stretch! 😁

I tend to dress for my inverted triangle shape rather than big boobs, and I don’t have particularly broad shoulders but if I look at myself I can see I’m very slim hipped so I play with those proportions: I can wear just about any type of Jean/trousers without worrying about does my bum/thighs look big in this? Ditto skirts. Any shape/style and pattern goes from the waist down so I have fun there and keep my upper half more muted, yes no high neck anything but boat necks work for me as well as the usual V/Scoop neck tops.
I think a lot (not all) big boobed women have that shape so it may be helpful to think of overall shape rather than just focusing on boob size and buttons.
Anything too tent like though is no good…so I have to be very careful with tunics and if I wear them they must be fluid and with some shape to them.
Hush cotton v neck t shirts are generous but still have some shape to them as a basic T.
I did try Pepperberry a couple of times when they were around but found quality for the price was poor and styles frankly quite meh.
Not recommending any specific brands as that’s highly dependent on your budget and style and I doubt there are any high street brands that focus on big boobs.
Focus on overall body shape rather than boob size…hope this helps, it works for me.

I bought this top recently and I love it, I honestly think it looks better on my size 12-14 32J frame than this model

Agree about the blouses making you big on top, just ordered from French connection a blouse and a couple from next, but they were too tent like, made me look huge on top, I do wear a more fitted shirt top buttons undone and a camisole under, I just wanted something different.

Monsoon top looks great on, loads of room for J-cups and on sale.

I'm 34G/32GG and have been buying this t-shirt for years. It's usually available in Black, Navy, White plus colours.
You might need to try 2 sizes to get the right balance between "room for the bust and not too baggy at the hips", but the neckline is relatively flattering and of course as it's jersey fabric there's a bit of stretch:

I'm a bit late to the party but can I ask for V neck cardigan recommendations? I want to do the cardigan in the high rise trousers look but the ones I tried had no length left after my 34FF were in 🤷‍♀️

Also, here is my contribution. Not cheap but the perfect white shirt.

Next do a fuller bust denim jacket in various colours. Unfortunately I did not manage to order one. Something happens between my computer and Next ordering. Dunno what!

I am a 40G and fitted the stretchy M&S denim jackets just fine!

Another playsuit that worked for me:

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/phase-eight-meryl-abstract-print-playsuit-multi/p6189470?size=12?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=
