Best beauty counter over 40s

I got some vouchers for Christmas and was thinking of updating my makeup. Which is the best beauty counter to go to for advice?
I'm 41, and want a decent every day look, not heavy looking. And a go to night out look too.
Keen to hear if anyone's had a good experience!

I worked on beauty counters for 15 years. (Chanel and Clinique). The best thing to do is find someone whose make up you like - they’ll probably do yours the same way regardless of the training they’ve had. Estée Lauder companies (who own Clinique, Bobbi Brown etc etc etc) all have the same training more or less across the brands.
