Has anyone used them? What do you think of them?

I'm in need of a full wardrobe overhaul, I don't know where to shop anymore as everywhere looks the same/doesn't suit my figure. I'm considering using this site but open to other ways round this if there are alternatives that anyone can suggest?

I've just signed up. Looking forward to seeing what they send! 😊

hopeishere · 01/01/2023 18:12

I've had a few boxes. It's very hit and miss. I rejected all of the last box. They send me a summer jumpsuit!! I'm going to give it one more go and the cancel.

caninecalamity · 01/01/2023 18:15

Hot and miss for me too but had had a few blouses I wear and wear so worth the risk for me.

AlwaysGinPlease · 01/01/2023 18:19

I've got to the point where I need inspiration and it will be nice to have someone with a fresh eye suggest things.

Can you approve or disapprove items before they send the box?

NotMyDayJob · 01/01/2023 18:20

I've done it a few times. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to matter how high I set the budget, how many times I tell them I don't wear black, how specific I am, they end up sending me the most frumpy clothes I've ever seen, that are usually completely seasonally inappropriate (cropped leg jump suits in winter, denim jackets in November that sort of thing). I recently asked for smart jeans and they just didn't seem to be able to include any, and I think that's a fairly basic wardrobe staple, I'm not asking for the moon on a stick. I've given up now, my most recent feedback was I don't know what my profile says about me that you keep sending such frumpy clothes

When they send you a list of five things you can reject I think three of them. At this point it’s DEFINITELY worth saying what you want instead as it’s definitely a human dealing with requests at this point not the algorithm.

AlwaysGinPlease · 01/01/2023 19:02

@museumum that's really helpful. Thank you 😊

DannydeVitooo · 01/01/2023 19:03

I don’t get it. Is it second hand? Where’s it from?

IET · 01/01/2023 19:25

@DannydeVitooo they just send you pieces of clothing. Full price, not secondhand or anything. Just five things and you decide if you like them or not.

You have to fill out a survey with your sizes, body shape, colouring, preferences etc when you sign up and then I think it's a combination of an algorithm and a person who chooses things for you.

DannydeVitooo · 01/01/2023 19:37

From what kind of stores?

IET · 01/01/2023 19:40

Some are labels you will maybe have heard of like Sugar hill Brighton, Oasis and Aldi shoes. The rest are Stitch Fix own brands and based on my experience these are scandalously overpriced tat. Worse than Primark but £££. It's the main thing that made me stop getting the boxes. I did keep one of their own brand things as it was quite nice, but it just disintegrated in the wash. It wasn't cheap either. Same with some of their jeans. They shrank horribly and got all misshapen. Even crappy supermarket jeans are better.

If you do get a box, I'd send back any of their own brands unless you LOVE them.

IET · 01/01/2023 19:40

ALDO no Aldi

PodoHouse · 01/01/2023 19:52

I have a link where we both get £15 credit. Feel free to use.

Why don’t people just shop at shops like normal people?

For some people, it's lack of time to get to the shops. For others, they don't know what to buy, so would prefer someone else does it for them

DannydeVitooo · 01/01/2023 20:07

I’ll do it for them. Without weird jeans

Lovetotravel123 · 01/01/2023 20:23

I have had a few great pieces but also lots of frumpy tat. I feel like the items in the ads are never actually available and the wheel items on the app are just really dull or horrible.

I’ve shopped online for years, didn’t realise I wasn’t normal. That actually explains a lot 😂

AlwaysGinPlease · 14/01/2023 11:50

Update...I kept the lot! Which wasn't the plan at all but I loved all 5 pieces. It works out at just under £39 per piece with the discount for keeping the lot also had a £25 credit added not sure why? Maybe as it was the first order. Really pleased!

AngryBirdsNoMore · 10/09/2023 23:19

Has anyone recently used Stitchfix ie during their closing down sale?

I don’t want to get stuck with just whatever dregs they have left.

Magenta82 · 10/09/2023 23:37

I haven't used them recently but I felt I was getting the dregs even before tge sale.

Timwith2noses · 10/09/2023 23:57

I used them last week because of sale and an Amex offer of £20 back if I spent over £40 with them. I bought it all and really liked it - one pair of jeans that I was a bit ‘just ok’ about but with the discount and £20 back from paying with my Amex I got everything (jeans, jumper, longline cardi, Seasalt skirt & jumper dress) for £60ish total - which was such a bargain that I have booked another in October.

LivingDeadGirlUK · 17/09/2023 20:06

I made the mistake of not upping my price cap before I ordered but I do like everything I've got. Some black wide cargo trousers, some plum chinos, a dark green vneck sweater, a pair of black trainers and a floral shirt which I like the look of but it might be a bit loud for me.
