Does anyone know if this website is legit? I'm perfectly happy with lab-grown gemstones rather than mined ones. Has anyone bought from them before? Their website says jewellers can't tell the difference between their sapphires and real ones. Does this sound plausible?

I don't know about the website. However, there is a ring for £154 on that website which has a similar one (lab created sapphire) available for £50 on the website below; albeit only a large stone and size P left.

It's an Etsy hosted shop so check their reviews.

Whilst lab grown does sound attractive and is at least conflict free, they do require an awful lot of energy to produce so are still not environmentally that friendly.

As to telling the difference, in theory they are identical. Natural large perfect stones without any flaws or inclusions are however rare and hence very expensive. Lab created stones are almost always perfect so the absence of any flaws in a big stone can be the indicator of a manufactured stone. You'd need to look closely under magnification though to use this as an identification point.
