Are Redken shampoos worth the money?

My hairdresser suggested I get the acid binding shampoo to help with the dryness of my Henares hair- which I’m growing out. They are expensive !
thanks

I like them. But I'm out of touch with what other shampoos are like this as I've been using premium shampoo (currently Schwarzkopf touch of grey/ Redken sensitive scalp/ KMS clarifying at pool) for years.

They do last ages - you don't need very much product.

Thanks🙂

Have a root round TKMaxx for shampoo - they are sometimes hit and miss but fairly often have stock of Redken, BedHead, Paul Mitchell and L’Oreal Professional at cheaper prices than the hairdresser.

Redken acidic bonding is my ABSOLUTE favourite shampoo and conditioner. It's absolutely worth it especially if you can get it on offer from look fantastic or All Beauty! I've tried and tested soooooo many and it's just brilliant. I much prefer that S&C to the olaplex ones. The leave in cream is also fab but not so keen on the pre-wash stuff!

I used to use Redken & it was great but can't afford it now so use Frizz Ease SLS shampoos.

Righty ho, thank you everyone. I shall hunt around for deals on the acidic bonding shampoo and conditioner 😍

Does your hairdresser sell the products she recommended to you? It seems a shame she went to the trouble to recommend the right produc, for your particular hair. Then you go and buy it from another outlet.

PieonaBarm · 22/12/2022 15:35

If you get the look fantastic app and enable notifications you'll get discount codes through regularly, often as much as 20% I have it on my iPad not my phone.

I like wella fusion but used to love Redken All Soft too!

Fluffycloudland77 · 22/12/2022 17:37

You can only try it and see.

I find that hairdresser‘recommendations’ are just a (usually unsolicited) sales pitch. They never recommend anything they don’t sell.

Acidic bonding line is definitely worth every penny, I have the shampoo, conditioner and leave in treatment but wouldn't purchase the leave in conditioner again. The shampoo and conditioner are brilliant and last ages. I bought 1000 ml bottles in the first week of Sep, wash my hair every other day and still have more than half a bottle of each left. Other than the acb I have tried redken all soft and joico products but I wouldn't buy them again as felt there was no much difference between them and just any drugstore product

LearnerCook · 22/12/2022 18:18

I use Redken colour protecting shampoo & conditioner and they work well for me.

Why don't you look on Amazon, if you haven't done so already. Much cheaper than buying from a salon.

Hathatuk · 22/12/2022 23:40

That's because to stock a product in salon you have to have product training in that particular range. A salon isn't going to recommend products that they haven't undergone training in as they wouldn't have the expertise to appropriately recommend the correct product for the client

Its very likely the hairdresser sells the products they recommend and all their recommendations are commission based. I wouldn't buy in a salon as they shouldn't be allowed to push products at you while you are sitting in a chair with wet hair and cannot escape the sales pitch. The OP has done the right thing. Walked away and is properly researching the products and shopping around for the best value.

What does Henares mean, or is it a typo?
