Best budget winter waterproof - & other clothing bargains

I’m returning to work soon after maternity leave and my wardrobe needs a refresh as I’ve not really lost my baby weight yet.

I’m needing an affordable truly waterproof winter coat, but also hoping mumsnetters will have some tips on other great budget buys for wardrobe staples:

• warm leggings
• jumpers and hoodies
• long sleeved tops
• winter pyjamas

I’m guess I’m looking for the holy grail of good quality for affordable prices!

I got a waterproof from Cottin Traders. It's long,waterproof but thin. I.ordered something from Lighthouse Clothing. Khaki waterproof. Was great padded and warm. I ordered their biggest size 20 but because I have thunder thighs it did not fit. Was gutted. Recommend trying theree. Legging from Love Leggings are good. Worth contacting customer service if u not sure a out sizing. Not see through- an absolute must. Good luck.

How much can you afford for a waterproof coat? You may get a Didriksons in the sale if you hold off a bit, otherwise I'd try Vinted there's a few listed on there at the moment.

I've got one and it's the best waterproof coat I've had, but appreciate they are on the pricier side.

Just to add if you're wanting things on a budget, definitely check out Vinted for the other things your looking for, lots of good buys to be had on there.

If you're wanting warm clothes I'd try get cashmere, merino wool and layer up.

Charity shops too if you have any locally.

Uniqlo sales are good. I bought a pure lambswool jumper for £19.90 in the sale, plus a merino jumper for about £15. Their heattech range is great too.

I can highly recommend Regatta coats for being waterproof and wind proof. I wear them for dog walking. My top tip is check their website and then compare on eBay etc as I have bought jackets cheaper on their eBay store.

Decathlon.

Honestly, their yoga range is great quality. I have bought a few leggings from there & a couple of cosy jumpers at different times. Can't beat their waterproofs either.

They don't do pyjamas though sadly.

I'd not go for a winter coat. A good lightish waterproof or a 3-in-1 will see you through the seasons.
