New nail tech was careless and cut my thumb

I’m slightly worried I’ll get an infection. Am I being dramatic? She was doing the usual cuticle-pushing back but really aggressively with the metal tool (sorry don’t know its name). She wasn’t in a rush just perhaps inexperienced but ouch, the pain! I have sensory difficulties anyway so I usually don’t like this part and tolerate it whilst making small talk, but nobody’s ever gone quite as hard. A minute later I was shocked to glance down at my hand and see my nail bed with a bright red puddle at the bottom of it! I wiped it but it kept bleeding and bleeding, and she’d nicked one of my other fingers too. I made up some excuse about my fingers bleeding in the cold when they’re chapped. She did look embarrassed but said nothing about it.

I’m now thinking I should’ve said something as this has never happened to me with any nail tech before!

Ouch that sounds sore, just keep it clean & it should be fine. I share in your hurted finger misery. Yesterday at work I sliced the top of my thumb almost off. Few stiches and its feeling ok today. What did you get done on your nails?
