Victoria Beckham kajal liner anyone?

GlobetrottingPercy · 08/12/2022 13:58

I keep seeing this on social media and it looks so soft and easy to apply. Does anyone use this brand and is it worth buying? I’m looking for an eyeliner that doesn’t fade away after a few hours without being as harsh as my current felt tip liner. Hoping some of you will have used it and can report back!

I'm using it now after seeing it recommended somewhere. I really like it, soft and easy to apply and it stays on well. Customer service is brilliant too. I ordered the pencil and the sharpener, but only received the pencil. Contacted them, and they sent a sharpener plus another pencil !

GetOffTheTableMabel · 08/12/2022 14:05

It’s really good. I wasn’t sure because it was fairly expensive but actually it’s soft so you can line your inner waterline with one soft swipe. It stays on well and, if it does migrate to the lower waterline (which it does on me if I apply a lot) it does so quite neatly, no panda eyes. I use both the black and dark brown in this way and I also have the bronze which I use on the lid and outer corners, it’s a gorgeous colour. I also bought the charcoal grey but it has so much pigment that it doesn’t show as significantly different from the black so I won’t be repurchasing that shade.
The cream blush sticks are also a fabulous formula.

doublecleansed · 08/12/2022 14:17

There's a thread every week asking this! Not having a go at all @GlobetrottingPercy - it just shows how prevalent those ads are! I ended up buying a couple after having them shoved down my throat every time I went on FB. Can confirm they are very nice though! I have the sea grey (gorgeous colour), bronze and ash.

Definitely wait until there's free shipping and/or a discount weekend though - they do regular offers. Shipping is £5 normally...which is a lot if you only want to try one pencil first.

GlobetrottingPercy · 08/12/2022 14:45

Ah sorry, I did try to search but couldn’t find a recent one. I’m stuck in bed at the moment with flu so probably didn’t look properly - also not sure when I think I’ll be wearing this eyeliner if I don’t improve soon Grin

@GetOffTheTableMabel cream blush sticks you say? I can’t even look right now as I’ve just purchased the nars liquid blush but I am a sucker for a blush stick usually….

@Dfg15 thats good to know about the customer service, it always makes it better when you get through to someone who is willing to help.

Thanks everyone for your help, I think I’ll go for it! I’m hoping there will be a sale after Christmas for free shipping or a discount.

It doesn't stick to my waterline. I can't create the look the instagram ads promised! It's a no from me.

LadyEloise1 · 08/12/2022 16:23

Are there retail stockists ?

Sparkletastic · 08/12/2022 16:36

As I say on all of these threads - it transfers. Urban Decay liners are way better.

Cult Beauty are the only UK stockist of VB make-up, I believe - but everything seems to be constantly out of stock, esp the eyeliners.

Smearywindowsagain · 08/12/2022 17:17

Is it better than Mac teddy? I find that doesn’t last well so was looking at these but very pricey for eyeliner

Cranarc · 08/12/2022 17:27

I think it is really good. It's very soft when it goes on and you have a couple of minutes to smudge it if you want, and then it dries and doesn't budge at all (at leat not for me, and I've even cried with it on - though I just dabbed my eyes with a tissue after, didn't rub them). I don't like using the smudge sponges on the other end of the pencil, though. I find them quite harsh and prefer to use fingers or a brush. It's so soft when you first put it on that you can blend it over your whole lid as an eyeshadow.

LadyEloise1 · 08/12/2022 18:15

Thanks @doublecleansed
I don't like buying make up on line as colours on the screen differ from real life.

Glittertwins · 08/12/2022 18:17

Does it go on smoothly? I like the look of the purple one but I seem to have problems in getting a smooth line, eyeliner always looks wrong on me

GlobetrottingPercy · 08/12/2022 18:27

Gosh, her advertising is working well isn’t it if the majority of sales are online only!

@Cranarc that's good to know about the sponge, you would expect it to be soft wouldn’t you?

@Sparkletastic do you find the urban decay ones to be just as soft? I use the all nighter setting spray so was hoping that would help with the transfer issue.

I purchased the olive one on the back of Facebook adverts (and after reading lots of blogs recommending it). Definitely the best eyeliner I’ve tried, I’m normally an eyeshadow and eyeliner flat brush as find pencils drag/ too hard and liquid is too severe but this is lovely and soft. It didn’t budge after using either which is a plus. Wish I’d purchased the sharpener though as not brave enough to try another brand. Olive colour is beautiful!

Cranarc · 09/12/2022 15:26

@JoanDarc the sharpener is nothing to write home about. Any decent one you already own will do just fine.

Scarfymcscarface · 09/12/2022 15:33

Yeah not your fault OP but so much money must have been thrown at this ad campaign. Must admit almost succumbed myself then brought myself back to my senses when I checked out how pricey they are!

I’ve said it before, Rimmel are actually very good for eyeliner particularly in silver.

doublecleansed · 09/12/2022 15:43

It must be one of the most successful social ad campaigns ever!

Wagsandclaws · 09/12/2022 15:54

I adore this liner, I bought their special offer of five a couple of weeks ago and find them so nice and soft.

They are easy to use as a 'one and done' eyeshadow too and I find once it's applied it stays on beautifully.

The colours are sublime.

DazzlePaintedBattlePants · 09/12/2022 16:13

They are great but can be a bit messy to apply (but all eyeliners transfer on me, even ultra waterproof ones). I use a very fine, stiff eyeliner brush, run it over the pencil and then use the brush to apply. I just bought the Cocoa one but wish I had bought one of the glitter ones as well!

GlobetrottingPercy · 09/12/2022 18:27

They are all over social media aren’t they, I wouldn’t have heard of them otherwise but they follow me wherever I go! Shows it’s working I guess…

@Scarfymcscarface In my teenage years I had a white glitter eyeshadow from Rimmel that I insisted on wearing to all events from a Saturday at home to special events to a standard school day. I’ve got quite nostalgic looking through their things on the boots website!

If you want to try a cheapie first, this stuff does not budge, comes in great colours, stays on my waterline and not on my contact lenses

Parmavi0lets · 10/12/2022 08:13

@Purpleavocado can you blend it the way they seem to do in the vb adverts?

Handsnotwands · 10/12/2022 08:50

Tbf it’s all over your social media because your social media knows you’re interested so keeps showing it to you

its v good. I’ve bought a few now. Bronze is best with my coloring

Purpleavocado · 10/12/2022 13:09

Parmavi0lets · 10/12/2022 08:13

It blends well, not sure if it's as well as the VB though, as the ads make it look amazing. It's still holy grail for me though as everything else aggravates my contacts.

Purpleavocado · 10/12/2022 13:15

This is chocolate brown and the taupe shade, with some taupe eyeshadow. The taupe is metallic and easier to blend.
