Black tights & gold sandals...

Acceptable or no? Absolutely no way I'm doing barelegs and have no natural tights . Have seen plenty of pics of socks & jerked sandals this year so maybe on trend?

My first instinct is absolutely not. You might just get away with it depending on the rest of the outfit if the tights are jet black and totally opaque. Anything sheer would be a disaster, in my opinion.

I think it could work depending on rest of the ensemble. Could definitely see it working with black sparkly tights as then there's definitely no way you look like you mixed up your work and party wardrobe.

I had exactly this dilemma recently. I kept seeing opaque tights/gold sandals in all the Christmas styling for Boden, Me & Em, etc and my initial reaction was WTF? followed swiftly by NO.

but then I tried it with a velvet midi dress and chunky gold platform 70s sandals* for a wedding last weekend and to my amazement it actually worked. It made my dress look unexpectedly modern amongst several other similar velvet midi dresses. Plus, I was the warmest person in the church.

Finer tights may look slightly better but the opaque ones are definitely wearable.

No, that doesn't look good. I would say black shoes and black tights would look much better, or the gold shoes with nude tights.
