Tinted moisturiser/bb/cc cream for combination skin

Hello,

I’ve got the classic combination skin; very oily in the t-zone, but also quite dry. I’ve started only wearing foundation for evenings/events, but I like a tinted moisturiser or similar to even out skin tone and hydrate.

I know nothing will work miracles with the oiliness, but I’d like something suitable for combination skin which hydrates without being greasy, heavy or orangey. I’m also quite pale, so need something which comes in a relatively fair shade. Does this magic tinted moisturiser exist?!
Thanks!

Following with interest as this is me!

I wear Clinique anti blemish foundation daily which feels heavy. They used to do an antiblemish BB cream and it was light yet medium coverage and it was perfect!! I was so gutted they discontinued.

I'd love to know of a tinted moisturiser as you describe!

Let’s hope the collective wisdom of mumsnet can help us both!

Following with interest - I currently use Beauty Pie's super healthy skin oil free sheer tinted spf 20 which fits this bill, but I gave up my membership as I wasn't using it enough and feels like an overkill to buy a new one for one product. Would love to find a beauty counter equivalent!

Stick with your usual moisturiser and wear erborian bb cream over the top. It has a matte finish and has a light colour option called clair.

alasangne · 06/12/2022 18:13

Chanel cc cream

alasangne · 06/12/2022 18:14

Or try a sample of the eborian I found it was too dark for me

I'm quite pale and Erborian CC in Clair is my holy grail

YellowAndGreenToBeSeen · 06/12/2022 19:13

Nars Tinted Moisturiser is great.

JAC76 · 06/12/2022 19:18

I have dry combo skin and like Clarins skin detox bb fluid. Only thing is the 00 fair is ever so slightly dark for me in winter. I like it so much I wrote to them asking if they’d consider doing a -001 colour as I’ve not found anything else I like as much, perfect amount of glow / coverage for me 😂

Came on to recommend the same!

The only thing I have ever had any success with is origins tinted moisturiser with a bit of powder on top and I have tried every foundation known to mankind!

blondie87 · 07/12/2022 11:57

Thanks for all the suggestions!

I’ve ordered the Eborian BB, so I’ll report back @lollyloo88 and @airwrapped when I’ve tried it out!

Laura Mercier Oil free tinted moisturiser or Clinique “Even Better” makeup.

minipie · 07/12/2022 12:57

I really like La Roche Posay Effaclar tinted moisturiser. It’s very lightweight and as it’s part of Effaclar range it doesn’t aggravate any skin conditions. Very slight sheen which I like. I am pale and the light version works for me. Only thing is, it doesn’t have SPF.

I have swapped to NARS for the spf, it’s good and there are loads of shades, but it’s very matte which I find a bit less flattering.

lollyloo88 · 07/12/2022 16:29

@blondie87 please do!! 😊 I watched a YouTube review and it looks amaze! If it's good I will buy xx

lindyloo57 · 07/12/2022 16:55

@blondie87 I love the eborian cc cream, I tried the bb cream but found it too thick for me, let us know what you think.

user1471523870 · 07/12/2022 17:17

Same type of skin and I have used Chanel CC cream for ages and absolutely loved it! Due to it being out of stock, I recently bought Clarins Skin Illusion and I also like it as very light but still covering and has spf. It's just less moisturizing for me, but the difference is very subtle.

Thisislifefornow · 07/12/2022 17:18

Olay Cc cream is great. Feels light but adds coverage and gives a healthy glow

blondie87 · 07/12/2022 17:22

@lindyloo57 I was a bit confused by the difference between the Cc and bb cream. They had what they called a super BB which gave more coverage, but I went for the regular so hopefully not too thick! I also got the smaller size incase it’s not for me. Looking forward to trying it out now!

Thanks to everyone for all the suggestions- I’ll make a note of them to try for next time unless the Eborian is amazing!

Clarins skin detox bb cream is amazing!!! I use the lightest shade

Coffeepot72 · 07/12/2022 18:35

Boots No 7 bb cream, I always come back to this

safetyzone · 07/12/2022 21:00

I bought the Rose Inc tinted serum during Black Friday and love it. It's shiny but not oily, it goes on quite watery but covers up redness and pores well. The colours are in the light side too so should suit paler skin.I have super oily t zone but very dry cheeks.

blondie87 · 12/12/2022 13:26

So the Eborian bb cream arrived today. As I said previously, I’m pretty pale but the Clair shade is perfect- phew!

I’m not an expert on beauty, but my verdict in this is that it does make my skin look markedly improved from an evening-skin -tone perspective. I’d agree with a previous poster who said it’s quite heavy- I’d say the finish is quite similar to a light weight foundation and more of matte effect. I’m really happy with it, but I think if someone is looking for a lighter finish, the cc cream might be a better shout!

So after @blondie87's good review of the Eborian BB cream, I went all out and bought the super BB cream in clair.

Wow I'm so pleased with it! A little goes a long way and I no longer feel like I have a heavy face (like I did with Clinique anti-blemish foundation), and as people have said previously a little goes a long way.
It's made me very happy indeed!
