What's a good mid-priced nail polish brand?

I know nothing about the subject! For Christmas I want to buy my teen some better quality nail polish than the pocket-money priced ones she's had before, which don't give good results.

Could I get something decent around the £7 mark? What do you suggest? Thanks!

Try Essie on amazon prime, it's varies from £5 to £9, the quality is good, it doesn't stain and I would rank it on the same level as OPI which is 2-3 times more expensive. Hope that helps

I like OPI, Essie and nails inc

This place does mystery bags and good sales, and really unusual holographic polishes

Currently eyeing up this one!

Marvala is decent. Some Lloyds chemists sell it and John Lewis when they have stock but it's easy to buy online. Essie is ok but I don't think it's worth the price. Sally Hansen polish is quite good.

Another vote for Essie.

I'm a big nail polish fan and have bought both expensive and cheap polish over the years. I always go back to Essie.

SparklyMistleToes · 03/12/2022 01:25

Essie was always my favourite, but I've recently bought one from Boots by a brand called My Mood and it's amazing! www.boots.com/my-mood-nail-polish-fly-10ml-10278804

Read the reviews. It's now my go to polish and lasts much longer than my Essie one even if I don't use a top coat

AJ2009 · 03/12/2022 01:39

Essie lasts forever on my nails I won't try anything else

ChillysWaterBottle · 03/12/2022 03:40

Ciate has some fun colours and cute bottles x

fallfallfall · 03/12/2022 04:01

i'm going to recommend NAIL INC, they have some lovely holiday mini's.

HelloBunny · 03/12/2022 04:08

Essie. Hit up TK Maxx for gift packs.

Mercurial123 · 03/12/2022 04:17

Zoya and it's cruelty free.

CinnamonJellyBeans · 03/12/2022 08:58

Another vote for Essie here, especially the top coat.

Jessica is a little more pricey and even better for shine, but not longevity.

Rina66 · 03/12/2022 10:00

I always find Revlon lasts really well.

Saracen · 03/12/2022 10:05

Thank you so much for all the suggestions! I really appreciate it. I've ordered some now and I'm sure she'll be delighted.

Thanks again to everyone who helped. DD is delighted with the OPI. I went with it just because of all the recommendations, it was the one which had her favourite colours.

We got very good results. I even almost enjoyed painting her nails, and I hate painting nails 😂It is much more satisfying when you get good results.
