It could be a top, or a jumper. Don't want to spend much BUT if it was wearable for multiple years would consider.

Would wear with jeans. Am size 12 standard short arse. Any ideas?

I bought a fairisle jumper dress years ago for Christmas jumper day at school, I bring it out every year on school Christmas jumper day, i will never ever need to buy another Christmas themed item of clothing ever again thank god, I’d not be seen dead in most of the tacky offerings (I get that they’re supposed to be naff, I just don’t want to wear them!). I don’t even really like my jumper dress, it just seemed the least ugly option 😂

Valkirie · 29/11/2022 22:58

How about some subtle sparkle that you could carry on wearing all winter? www.sezane.com/en/product/ludivine-jumper/beige-chine-argent#

PeeJayDay · 29/11/2022 23:07

The works do flashing and light up necklaces. Just add those to any jumper

Starlitexpress · 29/11/2022 23:16

Considering this for myself...

@MarmiteCoriander 🤣🤣🤣

I always get too hot in Christmas jumpers and don’t want to wear them, so I got a v nice lightweight Christmas floaty scarf which I wear to all “Christmas jumper” type occasions and it seems to work well enough! Here’s the one I got:

Wear a normal sweater, add a Christmas brooch.

Don't waste money and landfill on some ghastly garment that you'll never wear again.

dcadmamagain · 30/11/2022 00:56

Love the idea of the Christmas scarf

Ikeatears · 30/11/2022 00:57

Wear one of your own jumpers but buy this?

Fair isle is the only way to go. Any other form of Christmas jumper is the epitome of tasteless tacky. I can't stand the bloody things and cringe anytime someone suggests a Christmas themed jumper day / party. Ugh Halloween Angry

PyongyangKipperbang · 30/11/2022 01:36

Area manager came into work today and mentioned that everyone else was wearing XJ's except me. I said that I didnt have one so will be wearing normal uniform. I then got told it was expected/considered Xmas uniform and I could pick one up in Primark for under £20. I said that according to the company handbook, uniform would be provided and if it was considered uniform then I would happily wear whatever jumper they gave me to wear, but as a part time minimum wage employee (yes, I am trying to get FT hours before anyone says it) I couldnt justify spending the money on something I didnt want.

He kind of backed down in a "no, no, you're right of course, if it is uniform then you shouldnt have to pay for it...." and mumbled off. Helped I think that my manager pointed out that I am single parent and struggling with cost of living etc as it is and it would be unfair for a "Society" (work it out Wink)such as the one we work for, to expect me to pod out.

PyongyangKipperbang · 30/11/2022 01:37

Point I didnt make was......dont bother. What exactly are they going to do about? Strip you naked and force you into one?!

chella2 · 30/11/2022 09:36

I now have adverts through this thread for these monstrosities 🤣

I get too hot so I have a t shirt I drag out every year that says "this is my Christmas jumper"

My manager eye rolls every time Grin

Wear what you have! Pin tinsel on. Maybe a string of tiny battery lights. Pin some dangly decors on too.

Agree with this. Just decorate what you already own. No one will remember by the next day.

DameHelena · 30/11/2022 10:22

I'd definitely go for Fair Isle. You'll wear it again, unlike a hideous Xmas thing.

Chersfrozenface · 30/11/2022 10:30

Fair Isle - I have two for Christmas occasions.

Or red velvet. Or green and gold, as that's what the traditional Father Christmas wore.

With tinsel/light-up earrings and brooch if tasteless tat is considered compulsory.

Lottapianos · 30/11/2022 10:38

'Point I didnt make was......dont bother. What exactly are they going to do about?'

My thoughts exactly. Not a chance I would be getting involved in this nonsense. But I'm not sure from your OP if want to get involved just don't want to wear anything hideous, or you don't want to get involved at all

Niftythrifter · 30/11/2022 13:46

Yeah agree on the Fair Isle idea pp mentioned.

SaffyWall · 30/11/2022 13:52

I bought one of these a couple of years ago which I've had far more wear out of than I thought I might - it's subltly festive but not a reindeer in sight!

Elphame · 30/11/2022 16:21

This was forced upon me at work one year.

After much searching I found a top with a horrific looking skull wearing a santa hat. Job done.

Mumsnut · 30/11/2022 16:39

Bird - thank you. You have made my teenage son very happy.

shinynewapple22 · 30/11/2022 16:55

I can't link as the things I have were bought a few years ago, but for ideas:

I have a thin knit black jumper dress with silver snow flakes on which I wear for various meals out/pub meets over Christmas. Normally wear with thick tights, ankle boots .

Also have a sweatshirt with sparkly Christmas trees on which I bought 2020 to look a bit Christmassy at home when I wasn't going anywhere. I plan to dig this out for many years to come .
