Lumea IPL device - do you need all the attachments?

I’d like to give this device a go because I have quite coarse bikini hair - I’m very pale with dark hair so I think it should work?! 😆

my question is to ladies who have used it before - my main choice is between the two attachment version or the four attachment version. The two-attachment version comes with just face and body attachments, not the underarm and bikini. I don’t know if I can just use the body attachment on the underarm and bikini area? Is there any real difference and worth the extra money?

I’ve never used a different attachment on my lumea! I think I have an old model, I seriously can’t rave about it enough though!! I’m fair with dark hair and it has worked amazingly well for me. It did bring me out in a big rash the first couple of times I used it, i think I had it on too high a setting but it calmed down after a couple of days so I just used it again 2 weeks later as instructed and I’m so glad I stuck with it. I’d say it’s permanently removed about 70% of the hair on my legs and arms and underarms xx

Definitely get it, love mine. The one I got came with about 3 or four attachments but I only ever use the biggest one. Mine is also cordless but I only really use it plugged in so I wouldn't recommend paying more for that feature.

I've got the cordless prestige with attachments. Never used the other attachments and almost always use it plugged in.

Have you used it on your bikini line with the big attachment? Did it work well?

I've got all of the attachments and I only use one.

I have small attachment for the face and I think it's worth it as the laser won't flash unless it's positioned correctly and when I use the bigger attachment it's harder to place it correctly on my philtrum or the curves of my chin so I find the smaller attachment really handy for the face or if you wanted to do your toes or knuckles (hairy mary here! and yes it works great but you have to be organised and persistent).

I just have the 2 attachments and I can fo everywhere with them. It should work perfectly with your colouring

Thanks for the advice everyone! So this might be TMI but is it safe to use it to give yourself a bull Brazilian/Hollywood?

I have an old model. The only time I would want an attachment is for the face as it’s hard to get it to flash on smaller areas. It has worked very successful on bikini, underarms and legs. Has also got rid of my moustache and beard!

Not sure it would work as the skin on your undercarriage tends to be darker so less of a contrast. It might also get a bit hot. It's great on my bikini line but not sure it would work for this. You could give it a go though, I suppose

HelloGooodBye · 30/11/2022 10:05

Sorry I don't know about that as I have not used laser in that region.

courgettigreensadwater · 30/11/2022 14:13

@ChiquititaCat @ABrotherWhoLooksLikeHellMugYou I agree. I can't get past the actual bikini line or top knicker line and lower as the skin changes and it does get quite hot. I can't get quite far though. Also. I have never used anything other than the main part since over had it and they are superb.
